but is barkley?

and who didn't pan out?

barkley won't be the problem, but the 2006 and 2007 recruiting classes have been total busts, which is why SC is in this position. No player development at all

We play in the SEC. Our schedule is never going to be horrible. I don't have the numbers in front of me but I bet its in the top half.

yes. at least with Miles you can change assistants and see a tangible difference like with the defense this year. Even when USC changes assistants, its the same bullshite because Carroll fricks with the offense

He hires young assistants so he has a bunch of yes men that wont stand up to him. It's the reason Chow was pushed out. Carroll couldn't control him

yeah i remember carroll wanted input on the offense and norm was like, "go frick yourself"

hell i wouldn't be shocked if norm actually told him that

yea I said at the beginning of the year it'd be interesting to see what happens with your offense without chow or his protege running it.

Its the middle of the year and pollster had USC as a top 10 team for no reason other than "they are USC." Lets see how we end up at the end of the year before we start looking to send Miles to coach at ULM.

dude, face it...after the top 2 teams, there is a drop

then there is a drop to LSU

then a huge drop

who else deserves to be ranked? AU? UK?

LSU has also played the 2 worst SEC teams (Vandy, MSU)

If Michigan doesnt hire him away after this year, (and I'm giving Les the benefit of the doubt that LSU wins out, which is a BIG if at this point), it wont ever happen

Next year has the potential to be a LONG year for LSU.

I really don't think Miles is that bad as long as he has good assistants. Crowton pretty simply isn't a good OC. Dude was a mess at Oregon.

if you bring up the potential pitfalls of 2010, the auto-response is, "yeah but JJ will have another year under his belt"

black
lafell
dickson
scott
keiland
hitt
alem
woods
alexander
riley
hawkins

@UF
@AU
UTenn (don't know where)
UNC
WV

and if this team does what i think it does (based on last night), it will have quit on LSU 2 years in a row

like you said that is the one benefit of miles is since he doesn't have his own offense or D we aren't married to anything and can make the changes. The problem with that is you then have to make a great hire every time, you can't afford to miss.

Looks like the powers that be are going to force a coordinator change once again so that's good

Will Les make a change at OC this offseason.

Last year he had a huge decision to make regarding the defense and he went out and hired a quality DC

He HAS to do the same thing this year. I was a Crowton fan before this year, but a change needs to be made. The offense has looked like absolute shite this season. Les needs to hire someone who has a similar offensive philosophy as himself or make a conscious decision to allow his coordinators to coordinate.

Let the DC call all the defensive plays and let the OC call all of the offensive plays. Just manage the game and keep his hands off of game planning. Be like Bobby Bowden was in the 90's. Just walk the sidelines and let your coaches win your games for you. we only need him to be a GM an nothing else
