we won the title

We won when Miles had the abortion losses of Kentucky an Arkansas too... both took a lot of luck.

a very good team

They finished 10-4, after beating Air Force by 7 in the what the frick bowl.

dude, this was year two and we went 8-5 that season

It was 2002.

What's so funny? I was there. It took Marcus Randall actually playing like a QB for us to win on a late drive. And even then, it took a crazy defensive stop...

a game we won

Yes and looked miserable in doing so.

you are hand picking games from the 2003 season in which he was still developing a program

We won the title in 2003? If you meant hand picking games from the 2002 season, the year before we won the title, why were we "still developing" but then able to win a NC the next year?

but i don't know how we ever expect to be a "great" defense with our safeties 30 yards deep the entire game let alone the 3rd and Chavis concerns

yeah, that's a definite concern. i'm still crossing my fingers that it's largely due to poor pass rush. without a pass rush anyone can pick apart a defense.

yeah, sorry, 2002

and we didnt have a qb, marcus randall should have been a starting safety for us

if you throw out year 2 and the uab loss, saban was pretty fricking good at lsu

yeah, i'm not arguing that.

i'm just saying, everyone who acts like he's the perfect coach is crazy. he'll have down years too. everyone does.

regardless saban >>>>>> miles.

come on ron we can throw at randall for saban, and not do the same for our current qb situation?

not arguing for miles>>>>saban because that's not a winnable battle.

Did anyone else the Mr. Clean/Drill Sergeant guy next to Belicheck just throw down the cameraman? That's got to be a nice fine/lawsuit coming up.

dude had one foot out the door in the iowa game, that should be thrown out

and against utah, well, shouldnt have mattered, but not having smith hurt. and im sure the players didnt care cuz they were playing utah

I wouldn't come any where close to arguing that Saban's frick ups are worse or more frequent than Miles, but ever coach does have them, people just gives Saban/Meyer slack because of they make up for it. That said losing at home to Ron Zook with a true freshman at QB is not something we'd forgive Les for. We won the NC in 2007 and still bitch about UK and Arky

I wonder what his position with the Pats is. Maybe Yano can get something like that next year.
