Spinoff from the Kenny Smith to the Knicks thread. I love the NBA, but I have to say that watching Shaq, Ernie, Kenny, and Chuck on Inside the NBA is one of the things that makes it even better. ESPN's coverage is not good/blah in comparison. But, TNT is fantastic.

I learn, I love the banter, they make me laugh, they get after each other, but they actually know their stuff too. It is exactly what sports commentary should be. AND, even better, it isn't super flashy or gimmicky. They have fun, but it is 4 guys talking basketball.

As the NBA Playoffs really kick into gear, I just want every game to be on TNT with those guys breaking the games down.

It’s about to be even better. The Gone Fishin segment is going to premier very soon for a few teams

Lofty company.

Okay, the 3rd best show in TV history. I can live with that. No arguments.

It used to be better. Chuck has gotten more cranky the past several years and their basketball analysis has also gone downhill the more the game is evolving. Not that their analysis was ever great, but it’s gotten ridiculously bad the more the game evolves.

I also feel with Shaq that the show has gotten a little TOO silly at times.

Chuck is a great character but I think the average fan off the street could give better analysis.

Better analysis?! Did you guys see Kenny transport “into” the game?

i think the addition of Shaq was unnecessary and redundant. I know everyone here loves him because of his alma mater, but Charles already filled the role of the lovable big oaf on the show, and he plays that role better than Shaq.

When Shaq isn't being petty it's damn hard to beat.

From an analysis standpoint yes. Outside of arguing over trivial and petty things, they usually have the same general takes because of their similar backgrounds.

But you can't deny that, overall, Shaq makes the show even more funny and entertaining. Yes, Barkley was already accomplishing these things before. But adding Shaq to his schtick enhances that facet of the show without question.

Better Shaq than Chris Webber...but, the show is good without either of them.

Ernie, Kenny, and Chuck are the show.

And it is awesome, especially in the playoffs.
