Bi-District Finalists:

1959, 1963, 1964, 1986, 1988, 1989, 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008

They are well on their way to another state championship again this year to make it 4 in a row

Also, De La Salle in Cali.

For any small school I'd put Cardinal Mooney in Ohio against anybody. They are D3, which is our middle sized division. They are scary scary good. Pound for pound the best team in Ohio for the last 5 years or so in OH. Produced some pretty good coaches too, like the Stoops and Bo Pelini.

Yea good catch. Mooney isn't public either

I don't know how big the Public v Private debate is in other states, so not sure how relevant it is.

Isnt De La Salle private? Im not including teams on this who can recruit. Only teams who go with the talent in their area

I wouldn't mind seeing a list of NFL players from Katy.

Its very. Top programs recruit the best talent. Completly different than fielding a team based on the talent in that specific area only

You assume its like that everywhere in the country when talking about it at a national level. Not really the case in Ohio (for example)...

Typically the best public program in Ohio at the highest division is probably Glenville in Cleveland (but even they "recruit")

Thats the wierd thing. I dont know if it has changed but when they were winning a lot back when I was in highschool and early college they were doing it with kids who wernt D1 talent. They had a few here and there but they were beating teams who had 10,11, and 12 D1 recruits on one team

Southlake Carroll has to be pretty high up there

Miami Northwestern is probably #1 in terms of public schools in Florida

I guess coaching > natural talent.

Katy is pretty much a white town and those are the only teams they play in district as of a few years ago. Their district is okay.

Cinco Ranch has become very good but the other schools are pretty much garbage. They don't have to play schools like Elsik and Hastings anymore.

They always have solid coaching which makes up for the lack of athleticism.
