Good lord man get a grip. tFrear inside you is scary. PP7 doesn’t have the gaudy stats you want because people don’t throw at him.

Are you new to football?

You're an absolute clown

Patrick Peterson was one of the absolute best in the business for years.

To answer the question posed in the thread:

Is he too old to be the elite corner we saw early in his career? Yes. Is he too old to be a valuable starter and contributor on defense? No.

I'm sure moving forward in the offseason the Cardinals will continue to rebuild and reconstruct their defense and will see PP21 in a different role next year. Then he'll probably continue his career in a similarly adjusted role with a contender for his last year or two in the league to try and win a championship whether or be moving to safety or playing as an extra corner in nickel and dime packages.

Remember when Nnamdi Asomugha was the best CB in the league from like 2008-2009? It seems like their “dominant phase” is 1-3 years max.

You’ve moved the goalposts.

NA also moves teams after that. Very few players can maintain top tier excellence.

I seriously couldn't care less about the Astros.

You're probably trolling, but you aren't giving any reason as to why he's overrated, but just saying that he is.

This is not my reason, proof, or argument. I’m fairly certain I will be able to show y’all that PP7 has always been overrated. But here is something to keep you busy while I search.

I don’t have friends that talk about this guy.

I draw my public opinion of him from here and from media and ex players who shot their pants over him.

From EVERYTHING I’ve seen, he is overrated. And he always has been.

Y’all can gang up on me all you want but it will take a lot to change my mind.

Fair enough. As a primarily man to man corner, I don't think it's fair to just have these stats and not represent how often Peterson lines up against #1 receivers. That obviously doesn't excuse that type of season (although it is just one season, so I don't think it's quite fair to say he's been overrated his entire career), but it still has to be accounted for.

As an elite athlete who relies on his athleticism to win man to man match ups, I do expect him to regress a lot soon as he gets older.

Either way you're entitled to your own opinion, and if you feel that he's been overrated since his LSU days, I'm not gonna fight you on it.

I don’t disagree.

But he is overrated. He has always been overrated. And he’s more overrated here and in the media.

Simple question.

How bad was PP7 in 2014?

Next question.

Was he a pro bowl selection?

I believe he is and always has been fake news. I believe he is overrated here and clearly overrated in the media.

Seems like 4-5 years is all you’ll get before you experience a decline in speed and responsiveness.

Nah it just takes 3 years of elite play to get any recognition at the position and then you notice their prime for that 4-5 year window before they fall off

Wasn’t 2014 when he was diagnosed with diabetes? I distinctly remember him significantly improving AFTER he started getting diabetes treatment.
