Is Dave Roberts the biggest overmanaging coach in sports?

Wow. Just wow. This fricking dude would yank prime Nolan Ryan, Pedro Martinez, Sandy Koufax, Randy Johnson, and Greg Maddux out of the second inning of a playoff game if he got the chance. Good Lord.

Good fricking Lord. Alex Wood has a No Hitter through 5 2/3 and allows a HR. Doesn't even give him the chance to get out of the damn inning. What the hell?

I hope his bullpen shits their pants the rest of this series due to being overworked.

I like Roberts, but yeah, he goes overboard. I’m convinced he singlehandedly cost them game 2.

Yeah, I hate how he wants to take out his starter every time they give up a run or hit. Sure backfired on him last night.

It's a little much. But hey they are in the series.

Joe Maddon was worse last year.

Its been a formula they have used all season and its worked. But It was all under the assumption the starters would be more fresh for a playoff run if they didnt go deep into regular season games. Now that they are here, he seems to have forgotten the long term plan.

frick you and your analytics. Give me my old baseball back.

You need a guy that mixes analytics/gut/experience. Thus far, Hinch is doing that and that's the difference.

I hate how all of a sudden whenits the postseason, a pitcher isnt allowed to work out of a jam

Ironically, Hinch yanks Morton possibly too early and the dodgers finally plate a run.

Can you imagine Casey Stengel trying to manage in today's game?

Yep. I feel like manager's forget that the guy they are bringing in to get out of the jam or trouble can lose his shite too and make the situation an even bigger disaster.

Figure that's more the law of chances though. When the Cubs kept going to the bullpen this postseason when there was a jam or trouble on the basis, it seems like it always ended in a HR or a big inning.

Well i just feel like when you constantly bring a reliever in with two on, bad things will happen eventually

You could say the same about sticking with a guy. And the Dodgers bullpen has been very good this year.

Pitchers fare way worse the third time through the order and Bregman, Altuve and Correa all murder lefties. Plus Wood has hardly pitched of late. And Brandon Morrow is pretty great. I see no problem going to the pen there.

The plan worked tonight....and Dave Roberts just said they had Rich Hill available in the bullpen tonight. So that explains why he had the quick hook.
