re: Is Cam Newton the Most Overated Player in the League Right Now?

Ok? The offense is built around his ability to run the ball. Those plays where Cam is running the ball would be given to someone else to run the ball. Horrible argument.

Cam is averaging personally scoring over 2 TDs per game. Kaep is averaging under 1. Why are you surprised 1 NFL QB averaging over twice as many scores as another NFL QB is being thought to have a drastically better season?

Stats can be misleading.
The Panthers WRs drop more balls than most other NFL teams.
None of those WRs are sniffing the pro bowl. Washed up Cotchery is their #1. Journeymen like Philly Brown make up the rest.
The TE is really good, but he's not Gronk.
Cam evidently touched some folks on here and it is what it is.
I do not think Cam is Brady, but he is a top 10 QB in the NFL.

The fact of the matter is that the things he is insanely good at(actually thats an understatement, the things he is the best ever in) don't show up on the stat sheet. Actually they show up as negative stats. His unstoppableness on 3rd and short is incredibly valuable to an offense. But it shows up as 3 and 4 yard runs. Other QBs don't do that. Comparing him to other QBs who don't do that don't tell the whole story.

Top 10 is a stretch.
QBs id say he definitely isn't better than:
Rodgers
Brady
Brees
Romo
Big Ben
Luck - I do think the injuries are the reason he's been bad
Matt Ryan
Russell Wilson
Dalton
Eli
Peyton - even though he's had a rough first half of the year
Carr has been better than Cam this season, although I'm not ready to crown the dude yet. If I'm starting a team is take Carr over cam without question, though. Better passer.
Not top 10 IMO. But if you want to say he's 9th-10th best, fine. He's absolutely not any higher than that.

This is funny to me. Person sees Cam Newton for what he is and he has been touched by Cam in a sexual manner. Keep on being a homer nbd it isn't going to make your idol any better.

Omg I'm so butthurt. This whole time Cam really actually has amazing stats, his intangibles are off the charts, he doesn't act like a fricking fig on the field, and he is the NFL MVP. I have been blinded because i'm so upset about that time he beat Georgia 4 years ago. Thanks for showing me the light.

Someone post a bunch of gay pictures about Cam beating UGA in a thread about how good he is in the NFL, I post a sarcastic comment, and i'm annoying? Well you're stupid. Got anything else?

Andrew Luck is- guy has one good season and suddenly lyrics people think he's elite, at best he's the #2 QB in his class.

Matt Stafford

?
He improved each season for 3 straight seasons, carrying a team to the playoffs 3 straight years. The guy is hurt, it's so obvious. He also has no line worth a shite. Without being hurt he'd be able to mask that better. Hes also played some very good defenses. I expect a much better second half of the season. Likely another bad game against Denver, where even Rodgers looked bad. But after that he has good matchups. I don't think he's elite yet, but I feel good saying he will end up being elite.
And I'm with the others in this thread that Georgia/falcon guy is taking shite way overboard.

Overboard because I don't suck Cams penis and respond sarcastically to sarcastic posts? I guess dude. There's no need to keep this conversation going anyway. Any Panther/Auburn fan is going to think he's the MVP and anyone else is not. Pretty simple.
Posted on 11/6/15 at 8:03 am to CocoLoco
He's a winner. That's what is most valuable in the league. Thus making him a "Most Valuable Player" candidate. Stats don't mean shite if you can't win games.

False. It's a statistical driven award just like the Heisman.

So how's this thread going? Good?

Auburn sidewalk fans get so worked up over any criticism of cam
It's a cult of personality
