I agree about Boise. I think the window is closing. They are not good at all this year, and the fact that they are ranked 24 is a testament to the brand that Peterson has built.

how many big 12 titles does he have? one i think?

good coach. not even close to one of the best ever though

1. MNCs are subjective 2. How many winning seasons does KSU have without him? Winning one Big 12 championship is nothing short of amazing

Snyder is not even the best coach from the Iowa "coaching" tree. It is Hayden Frye and not even close.

But I am not a Snyder fan, he is an arse and a bully.

Moving to the Mountain West was like voluntarily going on probation, you go from 5 prime time ESPN games with no other football games on to playing every saturday on obscure channels its going to hurt your recruiting badly. Now moving to the Big East and only getting to play in your #1 recruiting territory once every other year. He needs to hurry up and get out of Boise.

Ok Nick Saban is the greatest coach in the history of the universe Alabama is the greatest football team of all time they would beat the AFC pro bowl team by 50. Happy?

He's just jealous of Bama. Over the last 60 years, Michigan has 1/2 championship while Alabama has nine.

My list of greatest modern coaches

tier 1(no order)

Tom Osbourne
Chris Petersen
Bobby Bowden
Urban Meyer
Barry Switzer

tier 2(no order)

Bill Synder
June Jones
Joe Paterno
Lavell Edwards

tier 3(no order)

Bobby Petrino
Nick Saban
Pete Carroll

Mack Brown
Steve Spurrier

Tom Osbourne (losing record OOC 12-13 in bowl games for his career) - people are banging on Bob Stoops for losing 5 BCS games in a row - Dr. Tom lost 7 major bowl games in a row in the 80's-90's. In his 13 bowl losses, the average high ranking of his teams was #3 in the nation. (So we can dispel the clutch coaching genius or big game Tom idea.)

And Meyer is a curious choice to have in tier 1 considering that tier seems to be predicated upon longevity (or is it just based on beating up your conference little guys as with Tom and Peterson) because he hasn't distanced himself from your tier 3 guys.

Meyer is 7-1 in bowl games (4-0 in BCS games) with 2 National Titles.
Carroll was 7-2 in bowl games (6-1 in BCS games) with 2 National Titles.
Saban is 7-6 in bowl games (4-1 in BCS games) with 3 National Titles.

But I think any rational person would rank Saban higher than June fricking Jones

Why? They are 2 different situations. 1 guys is working miracles at perrenial losers, the other is dominating at perrenial winners. Its a matter of preference. If Bama fans didn't have their eye sockets stuffed with Nick Saban testicles you could see that.

Hawaii? They weren't perennial losers. Go look what Tomey did there. After that they hit a lull though. SMU just had to make the commitment again.

Michigan State, Lsu, and Bama were not winning before Nick. You take that into consideration?

How can Saban be better than Bear when I keep hearing on the SECr that Les is better than Saban?

Birds of a feather? Your hanging opinions from the SECr on me.

Saban doing what he is doing in modern college football is mind blowing. Miles isn't the coach that Saban is but Saban might not be able to do it as long because of burn out. Miles walked into a great situation at LSU as compared to Saban at LSU and Alabama.

I also believe that Saban is probably on course to become the greatest of all time. If Alabama wins this year they are a dynasty and if they win again in the 2 years after this year we are talking about somebody walking by themselves in College Football lure. Again, my only concern for Saban is can his personality survive burnout and can his kids continue this insane mentality of perfection over the long run.

JoePa took over a no-name program and won 400 games and 20 bowl games (yeah yeah, vacated). Two national titles and cheated out of a third in 1994. First coach to win all of the original four bowls (Orange, Sugar, Cotton, Rose).

What he did on the field was very, very impressive.

Saban got 3 titles going on 4 in way less time. I rather have Saban than JoePa but that's just me.
