Does anyone really think Nebraska and West Virginia were better than FSU in ‘93?
We can say the same exact thing about Bama/FSU/Texas in 2023.

We can say anything.
FSU was a 16.5 pt. favorite over Nebraska for a good reason - and won the game. They beat Nebraska for the fourth time in seven years in a bowl game.
The highest ranked team Nebraska beat all year was #16. Their schedule was a joke.
FSU all the way.

If Tommie Frazier had won the Heisman in ‘95, it would be tough to argue against him. If not for horrifying officiating in the ‘94 Orange Bowl, he would have won three consecutive national championships.
He still has the honor of the most decorated player ever to go undrafted.

I mean...no, but Nebraska definitely played better than Florida State in that game and was a missed field goal away from beating them. Tommie Frazier was the game's MVP despite the loss.

Hendricks played DE in college and LB in the NFL. He also had baseball, basketball and football scholarships to the University of Miami but attended on a full academic scholarshiop. He couldn't have won the Outland Trophy because he wasn't an interior lineman or the Rimington because he didn't play center. There's a good chance that he would have won the award as the best college defensive end in the nation but they didn't have that award back then. They have an award for that now. It's called the Ted Hendricks Award.

I'm aware of that. And subsequent posters refer to where he was drafted and how he clearly wasn't an NFL caliber player to make the point that he was overrated. I don't think you have to be a great college football player to be a great NFL player but there is no way on earth that, barring a significant injury that you shouldn't be able to have a decent NFL career if you are the most accomplished college football player of all time.
