Cause frick Notre Dame that’s why.

Play in a conference. They shouldn’t be allowed to play in the playoffs.

Tulane winning its conference is like Billy Madison winning the dodgeball tournament in first grade. We’ve all seen that scene. Doesn’t mean they could ever win a national title. I’ll give you a hint… They can’t.

And Notre Dame hasn’t won a natty since the 80s and they feel like they should have an automatic seat at the table. frick that. Join a conference and win 1 conference game….then they should have a vote.

ND should not be forced to join a conference. They can run their school as they see fit. Isn’t this America? The mega conferences suck anyway and just serve the bottom feeders so they can mooch off the top programs.

Im sure subjectively ND feels that way. Objectively, ND vs Oregon/Ole Miss is a much better game than what we got. ND is a better team THIS SEASON than either of the JV teams we got. And I hate ND.

No they shouldn't be forced. But then they don't get to play for a natty.

So blow off 60 or so teams for the sake of 1.

I’m only interested in the best teams competing for a title. If Ohio State decided to go independent next year, are they excluded? Or if Alabama went independent because they are tired of subsidizing bottom feeders like Missouri or Miss State? Nope. Sorry. You guys are out because you’re not part of the almighty (watered down) conferences.

UGA probably would've threepeated in 2023 if they didn't have to play an extra game before the playoffs.

The problem is there is only 1 'Independent' team that can get in the playoffs. As its set up it should be the conference champions in the cfp which SHOULD be the best teams.....correct? The ACC didn't think of the most logical way to get its 'spot' in the cfp. The 'whataboutism' with Alabama or any other team is meaningless. If Notre Dame gets a spot then so should a Group team.

Notre Dame doesn't have to win anything to have a shot at the cfp.

Let me preface this statement with this: I hate Notre Dame. But 60 teams? WTF are you talking about? Looking at the current rankings there are 6 to 9 teams who got left out which would’ve made for better games than the JV teams that got in. Is Notre Dame better than those 6 to 9 teams? That’s an argument worth having, conference or no conference. But Notre Dame objectively is a better team than James Madison or Tulane. That’s my only point.

Disagree. ND needs to go 11-1 or better based on what happened this year. That’s a higher standard than anyone.

Bama got in with 3 losses and an arse whipping in the conference championship.

Miami had 2 losses and did not even make the conference championship game. In a bad conference no less.

And then of course Tulane and James Madison made it. But hey, they won something significant! And that makes them worthy!

problem is, sec/big10 sucked their dick, and they get an easy pass to playoff, same shite as they did with bcs bowls

But that's not a rule. If Notre Dame can hand pick schedules how does that make them worthy of a spot?

Good question but simple. Have Vegas rank the top 12. All of that is factored when they grade teams and set lines. And obviously there’s no one more accurate on these things generally than the major sportsbooks. No bias from committee members, and Vegas gives no credence or worth to the name of the school. For the record, Vegas had ND as the 3rd or 4th best team as of the end of the year. I know people who hate ND won’t want to hear it.

Or go back to the BCS computer system which factors schedule strength.

Either way, find the best 12 and let them duke it out.
