What are the expectations going into the year? I know the offense is going to have a major setback but I really don't know what Skip is going to bring to the table. Any insight from Tech fans would be greatly appreciated

They would turn that down too because it wasn't the title game

New President. New AD. New coach. New conference. Lost 30+ seniors.

Who knows. The biggest unknown in non-AQ IMO.

Fomer Tech student, but still keeping up with whats going on in Ruston. Expectations are low for Tech this year. Bulldogs lost a lot of talent from last years team. Could be a bowl team depending on how the new guys perform, or the season could be a total disaster for them. Its more an unknown at this point.

Tech has the benefit of a very weak schedule. The first game is going to be very telling. If Tevin King has a full recovery the offense will be very powerful. However, a return from an ACL injury is always a big question mark.

I have very high hopes and will be disappointed if this team does not make a bowl.

I mean this as more of a compliment to Dykes than a dig at Tech, but I think they took a step back from a coaching standpoint.

If Tulane still has the worst OL in CFB (and it would take triple the production for them not to be), La Tech will beat the brakes off of them at home.

Threeputt...you're an idiot

As far as the coaching goes, I think it's a wait and see. Dykes had his head scratching moves at time. Players absolutely love Dykes, as seen by Sterling transferring here and D'vario Montgomery wanting to transfer here. Holtz was successful at ECU so at this point I'll give him the benefit of the doubt that his South Florida was a combination of things and not just on him.

I think you mean Holtz here.

D'vario Montgomery

This kid is supposed to be a stud.

I am anxious to see how Taggart does at USF, but I think he's one of the top rising coaches in the country, him being successful there wouldn't affect my opinion of Holtz.

Yeah I did, my bad.

I was really disappointed USF did that to him. He would have been a huge get for Tech

The one known for this year is their running backs are studs. Everything else I assume is an unknown, anybody know how their OL is supposed to look this year?

It's a big unknown after losing all starters.

Wow, didn't realize they lost all starters on the line. Yikes, honestly though I didn't expect them to be as good last year as they were. Hopefully they got some good talent blocking for those running backs this year.

This team is probably a 5-7 type team that will be 7-5 bc of the schedule. Going over the roster and schedule, I see them 7-5 every time I run down the list.

90+% chance of a loss:
NCState
Tulsa
Rice

80+% chance if winning:
Tulane
Southern Miss
North Texas
Lamar

Tech should beat Kansas but who knows about this team on the road??? Same goes for FIU, UTSA, UTEP...army game is a coin flip.

All that said, 7-5 with some luck...will have to find a way to win a couple of road games.....

....but Tech will do something stupid like beat NCST and Kansas then lose to UTSA and FIU.
