Everyone not named Army, Navy, and Air Force was doing it to an extent.

And that stretch coincides with RG3 time in college so it checks out
I'm not a giant RGIII hater, but he is bombastic. His story checks out fairly well with this timeline. Stanford sucked well before Luck and Harbaugh and well after.
