"so by simply answering "3" you knew you were making a disingenuous and intellectually dishonest argument. glad we agree"
The question was how many all-stars. The answer was not intellectually dishonest, but feel free to spin it however you want.
"as for the talent level, i think its a pretty obvious fact they dont have the same horses as miami. dallas is deeper, no doubt, but if the #1s cancel each other out in lebron and dirk, the #2s and 3s for miami are FAR superior."
Since I don't agree the 1's cancel each other out, I certainly agree that the Top 3 are severly weighted towards Miami. However, the Mavs have talent and are deeper.
My only point was that the Mavs have talent, which seems to be lost on some.

When they're not your team (Hornets for me), literally anything is a reason not to cheer for them. You sound like a moron on this issue.
But there's a reason to cheer for the Heat?

They're about to sweep a team who has a larger market and a larger payroll. You sound like a moron on this issue.
Miami isn't sweeping this series.

There was plenty of drama in the 1990's, though six times you knew deep down who was going to win the title. You sound like a moron on this issue.

The Mavs would if they could find some 7-footers who knew how to crash the boards and play defense once in a while.
But nice fadeaway, Dirk. Real nice.
I'm sure you were saying this throughout their last 3 series wins too.
You are a moron on this issue. But keep starting shitty threads, it's what you're good at.

I've read thus entire thread and all of your wisdom. With all due respect you like to talk about basketball but you really dont understand the game at all. Did you ever have a good coach, Dad, or basketball expert teach you anything? Did you ever get any significant playing time in organized basketball?

It would be fun. I want the Mavs to win, but if the Heat win it will be because they are better, and it would be great to see LeBron get a championship and shut up his idiotic critics.

You've been right about one game. Other than that, this Mavs team who is soft and doesn't rebound has made it to the Finals. So your reasoning has been incorrect for 3 whole series.

This isn't Dirk's 2nd game. I've been watchig him for years. He gets outmuscled, outhustled, outrebounded, but not out-shot.

Sure, but we are talking about the Mavs of 2011, who aren't anything like the Mavs of the past.
Chandler has made this team a much better overall defensive team. He may not average 10 rebounds per game like you want him to, but he's made everyone better on defense. He's very vocal, plays great help side defense, he gets Dirk to play help side defense consistently (pretty much for the first time in his career), and he is finally the mobile big that Dallas has needed for years on both sides of the floor.
Dirk has made himself into a decent defender. He's nowhere near good, or even above average. But he's definitely not a liability on that side of the floor either.
And as for Dirk getting out-rebounded in the playoffs, he's averaged 10 rebounds per game in his post-season career, since you wanted to bring up the past.

And he gets Dirk to play defense harder? What championship team needs to be CONVINCED to try harder on defense?
quote:Not bad points, but it's not enough. Dirk has to become a great defender to become a champ IMHO.

I like Chandler and all, but you gotta admit (thought just one play) it's hard to talk him up for being the bringer of toughness and defense when he flat ran away from LeBron on that dunk.

Well they made it all the way to the Finals, so they accomplished a lot. If the Big Three wasn't assembled, they'd win the title this year, so what would you be saying then?
quote:
How do you not see this as weak? He's vocal? Oooooooooohhhhhhh I'm sire other teams are scared of that vocal defense.
Well talking and demanding effort from your teammates on defense is extremely important on the floor if you ask any coach who has ever coached basketball.

The Lakers. This year.

They could easily win the West again next year if they stop fricking each other's girlfriends/wives and the girlfriends/wives can learn to stop gossiping.

I could be wrong, but it looked like Dirk drove the lane on the last shot and had 11 rebounds #notapussy?
