How many 3 or 4? Kurt Warner's are extreme exceptions.

And there are fans who will gladly find something else to do with their Sundays.

What's to stop the players from forming their own league? They have the product, why not just form your own 32 team league called the Continental Football League and divide all profits amongst the players?
Nothing but a few billion dollars and time

whle you're initial idea is just straight tard. you are on my side and i appreciate the enthusiasm.
to everyone else...
sure the players are nothing without the league, and the league is nothing without the players......but what do you think is harder to replace....the players, or the league.

Both are extremely difficult and costly compared to JUST GETTING A frickING DEAL DONE AND KEEP PRINTING MONEY.

Maybe the stupid ones. Any others would be able to tell the difference between say Chris Johnson and Justin Vincent.
If you took them out of their uniforms and put them in street clothes along with about a dozen other athletic black guys, I guarantee you that 90% of this nation would not be able to tell you who Chris Johnson is.
Would it be hard at first and awkward? Yes, but ultimately people want to watch football. High school football isn't exactly great football and high schools have no problem getting asses in the seats at that level. Hell my alma mater was losing games left and right at at end of the millennium and had few stars, yet we still managed to pack our stadium.
People want football. Sure the players have some meaning to the fans, but do you really think the people of Boston would give a shite about Tom Brady if he was some third string clipboard holder? Fans primarily care about what you do on the field and the rest is a far distant second.

back to the subject at hand.
the players need to shut the frick up, get what they can, and get ready for mini camps

The problem is, they don't have the capital or business sense to run a 32-team league. This is why the players need the owners. On the other hand, the owners need the players because you can't trot out 45 scrubs vs. 45 scrubs on a Sunday afternoon and expect the same results you've been getting recently.

jesus christ people.
You do realize the memory zapping devices from MIB don't exist right? So people know that Tom Brady is still alive. As are Manning, Peterson, Polamalu, Rodgers...etc.
So next year if the Pats are 2-8 missing all of their 'stars' and watching some QB (who's probably worse than Brady Quinn), how do you think that'll go down?

No shite but if you told him to run with a football they'd say that guy is faster than 99.9% of everyone else in the world. They know who #28 for the Titans is and if another guy is wearing #28 and running a 4.7 they would definitely notice.

Does any high school get 65,000+?

definitly a legitamate question.
i'll answer with another question.
what do you think people would rather watch. college bseball or third rate football.?
lacross or 3rd rate football?
year 2 it becomes 2nd rate football.
lacross can suck it.
baseball is only cool at like 28 schools.
college football doesnt miss a beat.
nfl makes 2 yr comeback
fantasy leads the charge.
fact

They can get the capital really quick with a TV deal. Plus the players have some money saved up.
I'm actually on the owners' side here. I think if the players feel they can use their talents to make more money elsewhere then by all means, they should. But right now the owners own all the rights to the teams and if the players want to play in the NFL then suck it up and play for a little less money. You're still going to be rich just for being a good athlete. You'll just have slightly less money to send to your illegitimate children.

the seasons aren't concurrent

But what would happen is that viewership in late season MLB games and early season NBA games would go up.

ok, so what would you rather watch, nothing, or football?

On a random Sunday when given the choice of sub-par football or anything else, I would definitely do something else.

Devil's Advocate, say next year the Detroit Lions are 13-3 after the entire playing field gets leveled. Or any of the other perennially shitty teams in the NFL. Their fans will be more enthusiastic. I remember how awesome it was when the Oilers actually beat the Bears and Broncos during the strike year. I was a kid, I didn't care that they were replacement players.

go frick yourself
don't be an uppity idiot and play the stereotype game. 90% of the players are good normal people who are just really fricking good at football. Society has deemed that to be worth a ton of fricking money. They didn't demand it, it was given to them.

what the hell does this mean? Money is still money here. Fairness is what's in question.
