I was looking forward to seeing him on the sideline, but I did not think he would be successful.

Yeah I don't think this story is written quite yet

I definitely thought it would go worse than it has, though.

Said in the hiring thread that I thought he would do really well as a “father figure “ type coach for a lot of these young guys. Just a solid dude and glad it’s working for him.

This...Herm is a leader of men and a class act. With all the selfish coaches out there for themselves we need more guys like Herm.

As bad as the PAC-12 is this year, he might compete this year.

They lost 5 games by one score last season. I think he's closer to playing for a conference championship than a lot of people believe he is.

That said, Sparty basically out-sucked ASU yesterday. If Daniels doesn't scramble for that 4th down conversion, this thread likely doesn't exist.

I'll eat crow on Herm Edwards

In retrospect, this hire made perfect sense.

Herm Edwards was a well known football commentator who had some success at the NFL level. His greatest strength was his ability to motivate: the single biggest component to winning at the college level.

His fame and track record enable him to recruit well. His experience as a player and coach will likely limit mistakes.

Arizona State clearly got this one right.

I’ll eat crow on both Herm and Chip Kelly.

I couldn’t been more wrong on those two if I tried

I dont think they gonna be competing for pac 12 championships anytime soon, but who knows what can happen in the future

The PAC 12 is not good this year. Herm can make a run.
