Manning has had very high highs and pretty low lows in the playoffs. He's the only QB in modern NFL history to have a perfect rating game in the playoffs. Then a few years ago football outsiders ranked the greatest single game QB performances of all time based on strength of opposing D combined with passer rating. Manning had 3 of the top 4, and 2 of those were playoff games. So it's not like he always sucks in the playoffs. He's delivered some of the GOAT playoff game performances from a QB
And FWIW I don't think the game last year was completely on him, at least not from a choking standpoint. It's pretty clear he was dealing with some severe physical limitations in that game due to his health issues

One or two times, sure. But this is an ongoing thing with him going way back even to college. The one Super Bowl he did win was against Rex Grossman. Montana beat Elway and Marino in his Super Bowls as well as Boomer Esiason who was MVP of the league that year.

I was just referring to that one game, which someone referenced as an example of him choking. By the end of the game when the choking happened the temp had reached single digits and it was pretty obvious that his arm was dead. He couldn't throw a 10 yard out

Damnit Peyton. The night you decide to explode, you don't get my boy Decker involved!
I was expecting big fantasy numbers from him this week.

Decker would of had a TD and at least 60 more yards if he wouldn't of dropped passes
And they were WIDE open passes!!!!

I'm not saying Manning sucks. I believe he's one of the best. But, how hamstrung were those great defenses he played? We saw an example of how hard the rules are on the secondary tonight when a Ravens cb was flagged for illegal contact after having his hands on the receiver 7yds downfield. That wouldn't have been called during the 1980's. The 5yd contact rule really began being enforced during the mid 1990's though it had been created before that. The allowable blocking techniques and where the hands can be placed for the O-linemen have changed allowing them to hold blocks for longer periods of time. An article on the NFL website talks of how much safer and easier it is for receivers to run routes across the middle of the field due to fewer allowable reprisals by the defense.
There is a clear desire in the NFL heads to up the passing game which will result in more passing yards and tds. In 20 years when somebody throws for 7000yds and 70tds while wearing the red no-contact jersey mandated by the NFL during the regular season, will they be the greatest ever?

The one time that Peyton won the SB, he had 3 TDs to 7 TOs in the playoffs. How he got mvp of that SB is beyond me.

Since Spygate, Brady has done nothing but choke, and the biggest choke either of them had was NE choking a 100-point lead in the AFC title game against the Indianapolis. Brady is about to complete nine-consecutive choke-ending seasons, something Manning will never do.
Based on things that have actually happen, it can be reasonably assumed that Tom Brady is not good enough to win a Super Bowl unless his team is cheating. Peyton Manning doesn't need to cheat to get a ring.

I have Manning and Thomas on my team and am up big now. But, all fantasy info pre-draft I saw said not to draft Decker. He will lose big stats to Welker and the TE this year.

He might very well be. Denver looks scary good. To think he pretty much locked up the MVP in week 1. He is an absolute lock to throw 40 TDs. Crazy.
Lol, overreact much?

You just said Peyton Manning is "waaaaaaay better" than Joe Montana.
I hope your dad isn't around to read message boards.

He chokes in the playoffs, No doubt. That is irrelevant to the discussion. Even if it were, it's a tie breaker for statistical equals. No tie breaker needed here.
