You dont let dak walk period ,hes too good to let walk. If you have a top 10 qb in the NFL tou keep them and figure the cap out. Dude was really starting to vibe with oc Kellen Moore.
the recievers dallas has for him to throw too are unfreaking real. Gallup's rise has been overlooked because of losing dak and a competent deep ball thrower.coopers still cooper, with dak. Ceede is a rookie and will be the best they have on there roster in a year or two. They need to use the rbs better.they complement each other better then it seems cuz they dont use them as a two rb punch. Get Pollard in the Kamara type roll and Zeke is his nick chubb or at least draft a fast quick back in 4th round if pollards not it .

Draft surtain at corner from bama. Isnt he the top db prospect ? If not they can get wade. I think wade and surtain have switched spots on a lot of the draft boards ,because of play this year.
If nobody is there on d you want ,take sewell

It can be done in dallas ,gotta do whatever they can in the draft and free agency to get secondary pieces ,maybe a safety that can play in the box. Hell Jacoby Steven's in the 3rd round as a lb/s hybrid if hes around late ,he could work out . Hes playing out of position now.

Dallas's roster is way better then draft position. I'm not sure people know where dak ranks in stats and advanced metrics like pff uses. Daks a huge loss ,as you see now. Went from being number 1 offense in the nfl in 2019 and never skipped a beat before he got hurt in 2020.
This offense shows how good dak was.

Idc really cuz I'm a much bigger saints fan but there are cowboys fans all over my home and in my family, so I see there games and would hate for the saints to have to get in a shootout with them. Next year though. They suck this year

If by chance they had the opportunity to pick Trevor Lawrence, you absolutely pick him. I would say that Dak is better right now but not $38m over a rookie contract better. That money frees them up to add defensive and o-line help.

A better deal might be trading down to get Justin Fields. Still a damn good QB, you pick up draft picks and you save even more money.

Thats gonna be pretty hard.. 1st: The cowboys will win at least one more came.. They will fall to like 6-9 in draft order.

2nd: The Jets and jags are gonna have a rough time even winning any more games and then you have Cincy that will really struggle without Joe....

And this is the fallacy that a lot of NFL teams fall for. You should only do this if you have someone in the Mahomes, Wilson, Rodgers tier.

You aren't winning a Super Bowl paying Dak Prescott $35M/year because the roster around him has to be really good.

speaking of fallacies, that you can't have a good roster and pay a QB is a big one. The Saints are a good example of this. A few years ago the Saints had some 7-9 seasons and some of the worst defenses ever. A new DC here some better personnel guys there and you can draft/construct a good roster regardless of how much the QB makes. You may at some point have to have tough decisions and lose some quality players but it can be done. Its far worse to paid what they paid for Elliot than to overpay Dak. If you let someone walk QB would be the last position to let go.

They put together a few superb draft classes. You can't expect every team to be able to do that.

If you're going to pay a non-elite QB like he is one, repeatedly hitting in the draft is a necessity because there will be good players that you have to let walk.

This is the heart of the problem, most of you don't like Prescott so you try and rationalize with non-definable standards like "elite" and "non'elite". The problem with that is your options aren't Prescott OR say Mahomes, its Prescott vs someone else that either has never played a down in the NFL or someone that was discarded by another team. The later tend to be no where close to as good as Prescott has been (Tannehill for example) or its some extraordinary circumstance (Manning injury, Brady-Belichick divorce) which is is more unlikely to hitting in the draft on a consistent basis.

The Jets and Jags will have the top two picks... they will go Lawrence and Fields.

Then Bengals, Chargers, Falcons and Cowboys will have picks 3-6 in some order. The only team I see taking a QB is ATL. Bengals and Chargers go O-line.

I think the Cowboys take (might fall into) the best defensive player in the draft.
