Hence my point,

I bet this whole "which player has what players and coaches around him" argument will be gone if and when Lebron wins a championship.

If Lebron wins next year with Wade and Riley around him. No one would say the words, "Well, that really helps when you have Wade and Riley aound you." Most would say "Lebron is just so awesome."

Your reading comprehension is terrible.

no one is trying to diminish what kobe has done

we are just giving reasons why lebron hasn't won in relation to kobe.

That's basically saying Kobe isn't responsible for his what he has done, and Lebron isn't responsible for what he hasn't.

No it isn't, it's pointing out that Kobe has had better players around him and a better coach. That's not even debatable. Why do Kobe fans get so offended when stating the obvious? 3 of Kobe's rings came when playing as the number two option next to Shaq. He had Gasol, Odom, Bynum, ect around him last year. How can you bitches sit there and criticize Lebron when he's never had anything close to the talent that Kobe has? That's the point.

Kobe isnt doesnt refer to himself as "The King" or "The Chosen One" for crying out loud. This whole thing just shows that James is not that much or any better than the other superstars in the league. He needs help, alot, to win a championship...Just like everyone else. If he really was the Chosen one he could easily win it.

I think what Freauxzen is missing is the antagonistic nature of posters like theunknownknight and klark kent, who do nothing but flame this board after every bad Lebron game or good Kobe game. Hell, I don't know if unknownknight has ever posted anything on this site that isn't in some way derogatory to either Lebron, Shaq, or Jordan. The guy hardly even posts positive things about Kobe; he's too busy tearing down all perceived threats.

This is a long thread that went off on a tangent caused by the previously mentioned trolls. Kobe is a great player nearing the end of his career. Lebron is a great player who has plenty of time left to win championships. Let's not feed the trolls and let this thing die.

WOW

I don't think I've ever heard Lebron call himself "King James" or "The Chosen One". You are acting like he came up with those nicknames.

Michael Jordan is the greatest player of all time and even he needed help. If your expectation of Lebron was to win a championship by himself then you are the one with unreal expectations.

FWIW, I thought I was responding to shel311, who's line seemed to be more anti-Kobe, supporting cast blah blah. Copy and pasted, rather than replied directly. My fault.

Kobe is nowhere near ending his career I'm sorry to tell you. Kobe will play until he isn't physically capable of playing anymore. Basketball is his life.

I lurk here often, and know of the vast Kobe/Lebron flame wars that start, but maybe not about how deep the lines go. I get put off by Lebron excuses (not that I'm a strict Kobe fan), because like I said, it won't matter about "who has what around him," when Lebron wins. No one will make the argument, regardless of who is around him. I can see it now.

I didn't mean that in a negative way. I guess it's all relative. He's probably nearing the end of his career as one of the most dominant players in the NBA.

I don't think this argument is as much a knock on Kobe as a legit defense for Lebron.

Jordan had Pippen
Wade had Shaq
Kobe had Bynum, Gasol, and Odom
Shaq had Kobe
Duncan had Robinson, Parker, and Ginobili

No one has ever or will ever win a championship by themselves so the chosen one should be able to win one by himself is moot

I think having this tatooed on yourself means the same as calling yourself this.

No doubt the GOAT. Just Pip for help, all the others were swapped out several times. I think we can agree that every facet of Jordans game was better than James.

Best record in the league 2 years in a row. I guess I at least expected him to TRY to win it. Not quit and pout.
