Yeah cause Boston was the best team in 08 all year long. Best regular season record, home court advantage and everything.

I really think you're not understanding the difference between regular season and post-season. Are you saying this Boston team now is ANY bit the same as the regular season? NOpe.

quote:

Who was the best team this year?

The Lakers. You're busy getting caught up in records a bit too much.

quote:

Who did everybody pick to win the East and win it all?

Now you're getting downright delusional if you think "everybody" picked the Cavs to beat the Lakers.

quote:

One major difference is in 08 the Lakers had to go to Boston and came home down 0-2. This year the Cavs were at home and left to go to Boston tied 1-1. Playing bad on the road and playing bad at home are 2 completely different things.

Correct me if I'm wrong. Both series went 6 games. Both series had 3 home games and 3 road games. Both series the Celtics won 4 games to 2, correct?

Yea, big difference.

This debate has gotten truly, truly weird at this point. I've never seen such odd arguments.

Yeah but having to play 2 on the road to start off with is completely different from having the first 2 in your own gym.

something for you fan boys:

Some of you keep referencing how kobe took the great suns team to 7 games and the importance of this....WELL, the following season Lebron and the Cavs took Boston to 7 games and lost game 7 by 5 points. Lebron scored 45 in a losing effort.

That same season in the NBA Finals the Lakers lost to Boston in 6 games, losing game 6 by 39 points. Kobe scored 22 in a losing effort.

Point is, shut the frick up about the Lakers losing a 7 game series to Phoenix, that shite doesn't hold up.

So, that's it. That explains and excuses Kobe and we'll forget about his terrible last 3 games.

But Lebron gets absolutely murdered for his last 3 games.

All because Boston played 2 home games first.

That's the logic?

The logic is Cleveland was the best team in basketball and they lost to a 4 seed. A 4 seed by the way that lost 1 game and was a PP game winner away from losing another to the one man show Heat. Boston is not that good, they are exposing Orlando as the team they were all year up until that little run they made at the end of the year.

The Lakers lost to a better team in the Celtics.

I just don't know how you guys can not step out of Kobe's a-hole for a few moments and take a common sense approach. Kobe has never won a title without an elite big man on his team, Lebron has never HAD an elite big man or even an elite number two option on his team. Kobe has played for one of the most successful coaches in NBA history, Lebron has played for Mike fricking Brown. Kobe has so many advantages over Lebron it's not even funny. I will never understand why you pussies feel like you have to bash Lebron, Jordan, and anyone else that Kobe has been compared to.

Yeah. Ok.

So the argument is:

Kobe's done nothing because he has players/coaches to win with.
Lebron's done nothing because he doesn't have players/coaches to win with.

So, let me guess: If and when Lebron wins a championship, the Lebrononites will harp that he's the greatest player ever, even if he has great players around him. Got it.

He's not even a "king defender". Most of the people posting in this thread aren't partial to either player; they're just tired of the idiocy from the extreme Kobe fans who run down every player they see as a threat to their hero's legacy (Jordan, Shaq, Lebron, etc.)

You should really stick to the movie board.

I might have missed it but I dont recall a single person on this board saying that Kobe is somehow better than Jordan. Jordan is the GOAT and the only ones I seem to be saying different are the Lebrontards from time to time.

If you would have read a little more you would know that most of us don't give a shite about Lebron or Kobe.

Who said that Kobe has done nothing? You might need to go back to the LOST threads, friend.

So a "Kobe hater" then. Either way the statement is pretty much trying to tear down Kobe. "He has big men and Hall of Fame Coaches." As if Kobe isn't responsible.

That's a lot of posts for people who are "impartial."

Maybe my last statement was out of line, but I still think that if and when Lebron wins, it won't matter who is around him like it does for all of the anti-Kobe arguments.

Say he joins the Heat and wins next year, you really think people would make the same statement and in attempts to downplay Lebron's stature? That's more my point.

Don't try to be an internet tough guy like this is your territory. Please, that's weak.

So stating the obvious = Kobe hater?? I simply said that Kobe has never won without arguably the best coach of all time and an elite big, while Lebron has never played with either. How does that make me a Kobe hater?

That's basically saying Kobe isn't responsible for his what he has done, and Lebron isn't responsible for what he hasn't.

Therefore, my guess:

So, let me guess: If and when Lebron wins a championship, the Lebrononites will harp that he's the greatest player ever, even if he has great players around him. Got it.

I bet this whole "which player has what players around him" argument will be gone if and when Lebron wins a championship.

FWIW, I thought I was responding to shel311, who's line seemed to be more anti-Kobe, supporting cast blah blah. Copy and pasted, rather than replied directly. My fault.

you're a dimwit.

no one said kobe isn't responsible for winning those championships. we are saying it sure as hell helps when you have another elite player playing with him (a luxury lebron hasn't been given). kobe has shown he can't win without another elite player around him.
