I can't recall of an instance where this actually occurred, but this topic always seems to come up whenever a QB has success running the ball. Guys like Fran Tarkenton, Steve Young, and Vick were very good at it, and resorted to being more pure pocket passers because they got old.

Didn’t Steve Young retire early because of all the concussions?

It depends on how good of a pocket passer you are and how much you depend on your legs. It’s been proven that players who run with the ball take a lot of wear and tear.

IIRC his were coming from getting absolutely smashed in the pocket.

I was watching that Cardinals game where he kept taking shots until he couldn't take any more.

John Elway was one with a similar style but he made it through relatively unscathed.

There are more than a few QBs in the league who average a few hundred rushing yards per season with the development of the game, with similar styles nowadays. And you'd have to look at the stats to see who gets hurt on what play but players that come to mind that have missed at least a game per season due to injury are Tyrod Taylor and Marcus Mariota.

Cam Newton is the one who is going to have to truly scale down eventually

Russell Wilson who is a guy that runs somewhat frequently and rarely gets hit hard.
