I see it as if they took the champions from each conferance for the playoff spots.
Then the regular season stays a major part.
Ex.
SEC Champ vs. ACC Champ
Big 12 Champ vs. Pac 10 Champ
Big Ten Champ vs. Big East Champ
MWC Champ vs. CUSA Champ
Just throwing my hat in the ring but im happy no matter what format we stick with.

it would kill recruiting for the little guys like the sunbelt. you would almost have to let their champ compete for a spot somehow.

That was a bad deal. But it was AU so I think it is funny. But seriously.... be honest.. Do you really think AU would have stood a chance against USC? They beat OU that night like a drum. AU got lucky to beat us and we weren't that good.
Villanova winning the NCAA BB NC in 1985 was a bigger EPIC fail. They were not the best team in BB.

We aren't talking about the #32 ranked team getting into the playoffs. Maybe a playoff between the top 8 or less.

WRONG! Have you ever watched the UNC-DUKE games? Tell me those don't matter. Tell me those fans don't care because it's just a 'regular season' game. Of course those games still matter, the only thing that would change is that OUR WHOLE SEASON wouldn't be completely worthless if we didn't win those games. It would make those games matter if the tournament only had 8-16 teams.

Did you really type this? Every game would not be a must win if two SEC teams make it into a 8 team playoff. I think if two SEC teams were in the 8, one would have a loss. Perhaps my math is fuzzy there.
#1- No team that did not win it's conference should play for a NC. I know about OU and Nebraska but I think that got fixed.
#2- If you go with the above, A team from the Big 10 with 3 losses could be playing in the playoff and a team with 1 loss in the SEC could be left out.
#3- If you pick the 8 teams by BCS rank or polls there will be even more crying that now. 64 teams play in the NCAA tourney and after selection Sunday we get bombarded with "who got screwed". Hell there are 64 teams ahead of them and somehow they got screwed?

DID YOU REALLY TYPE THIS? What part of his comment didn't make sense to you? If we could only lose at most 1 game then why wouldn't ALL the games matter? Your points need a little help, #1 - TEXAS! They didn't win their conference because of a stupid rule in their conference and you can't honestly tell me that they didn't deserve it more than OU, they BEAT OU!. #2 - When is the last time a big ten team won their conference with 3 losses? I'll bet it either has never happened or it has been a long time, so that is irrelevant, although i do understand your concern with that conference but if someone from that conference HAS to make it, at least they aren't taking 1 of the 2 spots available for the NC. #3 - I do agree that there is crying in basketball and there would be in football, but as i stated before, at least you would have more teams that have a chance, that is all that we are wanting is for football to do what every other sport does in every other league - give teams, more than 2, a chance to play for the championship.

First, their rule isn't stupid. Second, OU deserved it more than Texas Tech and Texas.

Of course. Because obviously the only way to have a playoff is to invite every team with three losses or less.
