Because they knew Michigan was better than 6-7 Auburn? .

I think Bama knew they had to play it tight and hope for Michigan mistakes and it almost worked...Bama almost won by Bama's great punting game flipping the field, which is ironic (punt Bama punt) and Michigan special teams miscues.

I thought Michigan looked physically superior the entire game. It was only as close as it was because of all the miscues.

Because they were and it wasn’t half as close as that score.

Bama shouldn’t have played their 2nd string QB.

Probably would have given the team more confidence.

Michigan was superior to Bama on the LOS.

It almost seemed to me that the players on Bama's OL are too big.

Michigan DBs shut down the passing game and kept him overall in check .

Michigan was the much better team. Bama was easily the worst of the 4 of the CFP teams

Bama's QB was terrible. Not sure why he was in the game.

The fact that Bama even had a lead still blows me away. I can't remember the last time I saw a Saban team get pushed around so much. Maybe that title game blowout vs Clemson?

Michigan is damn lucky that OT doesn't have a big ST influence. Almost makes me think OTs would be better if it worked punts into it somehow. Maybe each team gets a punt from their own 1 to start and the starting position for the receiving team is however far they advance that punt. I'd dig that I think.

Y’all are insane.

Missing a FG isn’t ideal for Michigan but Milroe’s ridiculous fumble cancels out the muffed punt from Michigan.

Outside of that, how on earth was the game lopsided? Not as close as it looked? Michigan had to score a TD with 1:30 left to get it to OT. What the frick does it mean the game wasn’t as close as it appeared?

Alabama played their absolute worst game possible on offense. A nice chunk of that was not being able to handle Michigan’s stunts and dealing with how sound Michigan is on defense. So credit to Michigan.

But Alabama probably wins the game if the center has a normal snapping game or if Reese sticks with the run more.

By no means do I think Alabama was clearly the better team. But the game was won by Alabama doing unimaginably stupid shite constantly for the entire game.

Who did you want back there attempting to catch those snaps and run them down before Michigan could get to them?

Milroe had poor body language in the late part of the game. When Michigan scored to tie it he had a defeated look on his face. By then I guess he knew he wasn't playing against a soft defense like LSU had this year.

He probably knew he wasn’t playing LSU’s horrific defense when he had constant pressure up the middle destroying him all day.

I can’t believe Alabama couldn’t make adjustments to slow down Michigan’s stunting front at all. I also can’t believe McLaughlin is still wrecking games with bad snaps.

What’s your point?

Where was Michigan dominated? They had 13 points with 1:38 left in the game.

Michigan thought they had to get cute, and out think Saban. All they had to was what they've been doing all year long. Thankfully that didn't lose them the game. It almost did.

Bama deserves a rematch, but this time, they won't play scared and will blow out Michigan.

Somebody who could throw the ball and not rely on running.

What’s his point? That the LOS is the most critical part of the game and Michigan was much better there and Bama did well to make a game out of it. Bama has always been dominant there so it is unusual to see them outplayed up front. Saban worked his magic by playing a conservative field position game and damn near won the game doing that.

The fact that Bama’s worst team in ages made it to the playoffs is something to be proud of
