I’d take OU’s D over Indiana right now, especially considering they lost arguably their best defensive player. OU is very high in all defensive metrics against an exponentially harder schedule.
Exponentially? Indiana played Oregon and tOSU. Those are teams that average about 39ppg, 9th and 18th nationally.
Against Indiana they averaged 15.
Alabamas offense is 39th nationally in scoring and put up 34 on Oklahoma, granted 7 came from the D. It was the second most points Alabama scored against any SEC team all season.

You claimed UGA only won because you’ve played us so many times. Just own up to that being a retarded take.
It’s not a retarded take. Even GT beats you once in a while. If you play enough games against one team eventually they will win once in a while. Kirby’s record vs Bama is embarrassing.

I believe Indiana is a team of destiny.

Sure, but that is not the reason UGA won which makes it a retarded take on your part.

Are we just gonna ignore the other 11 teams they played?

Why is it a bad feeling.
Roll Tide, rooting for underdog

Indiana will lose because it’s Bama and they have to make its Bama or Georgia vs Ohio State. Ultimately, ESPN will call the shot on this.

Now look where OU’s defense is ranked in comparison to IU.
Then compare the teams they played to get those defensive efficiency stats.

Agree. Indiana is new at this and Bama is a brand and probably has as much talent as Indiana.

Vanderbilt is more of a pure great story while Indiana is simultaneously a great story and a legitimately elite team. That combo is rare. All of the losses most commonly found on “most devastating losses” lists involve those “all-time story/legit contender” combos tripping up in a close late-season game against a far inferior opponent.
1998 Kansas State
2007 West Virginia
2010 Boise State
2011 Oklahoma State
None of those teams were flukes playing above their talent level. All were preseason top 10 teams.

Who are the great teams that Oklahomas shut down this year?
Indiana yields fewer points and yards, forces more TO, better on 3rd down, and they’ve held elite playoff teams to significantly fewer points and yards than their season average. Oklahoma can’t lay claim to performances like what Indiana did defensively against tOSU and Oregon.

I would take Bama and the points.
Indiana is getting too much credit for beating a flat Ohio State team that just came off of their huge Michigan game.

Lol. Indiana is the only team in the country to beat 2 top 5 teams on the road or at neutral sites.
They beat ohio state up front and ran the ball for 118 yards against the nations best defense. Turned around and had their own defense hold tOSU to 58 yards rushing in the same game.
They’re the most complete team, it’s not really even close. Their offense squared off with 3 elite Ds and made the plays to beat them every time.

I posted it the day they got in and I will post it again now: Alabama is winning the national championship.

Not even close ?
They beat Ohio State by 3, but it's not even close ?
And the game was in Indianapolis, not officially a home game, but a home game.

I hate when people use the transitive property when it comes to sports.
Each team is a separate entity.

Columbus is right down the road. Each school had about half the stands.
I didn’t say they were the best by a large margin, I said they were the most complete, as in they’re elite everywhere. Ohio state is not. Georgia is not. I think those teams are just as good as Indiana and can beat them, but they’re not as complete a team across the board.

I never thought I would live to see the day where Alabama was afraid of Indiana
Posted on 12/20/25 at 1:58 pm to Barry Switzer
“Not even close” is one of the most over used phrases in sports talk. Often times it is close. Like you said they barely beat OSU. They maybe better but saying it’s not even close is the man equivalent of a teenage girl using literally frequently for pointless emphasis

Ohio state has weaknesses. They’re not as dominant offensively as Indiana is. They have the nations best defense and a tier 2 offense. Georgia is very similar.
Indiana is elite on both sides of the ball. They can run it and throw it, play physical and have great team speed. They’re really good everywhere, which makes them able to win all types of games, no matter how they play out. They’re comfortable in a 13-10 street fight just the same as they are putting 600 yards and 60 points on 8-4 teams
