“Commitment”
“Finish what you started”
“True student athletes”

L-O-fricking-L

Fat, balding middle-aged chucklefricks hiding behind that nonesense is rich. Nobody thinks of these players as student athletes (hell, they’re barely people as much as commodities to most fans) and they sure as shite don’t care about moral principle. They want their team to win football games, and if any player is going to hinder that then frick them.

From a player’s perspective it makes NO frickING SENSE AT ALL to play in the Cheeze It Bowl if they stand to make hundreds of thousands to millions of dollars in 5 months if they just stay healthy.

In no traditional professional field on the planet would you be expected to risk that much money for such trivial immediate gain.

I’m not sure whom you claim to be speaking for here.

Players have the right to sit. Fans have the right to bitch.

It’s a symbiotic relationship.

Was an NFL salary in 1948 at all comparable to an NFL salary today? What exactly is the point of saying this?

Dude I would have loved to be Ed Oliver and play this year and just crush everyone

I get why they sit out though. Don't have an issue with it

Why do so many people repeat the meme that the average TD user is a fat, middle aged white man who is balding?

The average TD user is likely an in-shape 29 year old who works out and is in shape

CFP killed the rest of the bowls.

Maybe 2% of the population even cares about these guys not playing.

this is the MSB. not the OT. we like our players to STAND for the anthem and we like our "student" athletes to confirm to our every whim here. youve come to the wrong board my friend

Nah dude, it's all about the team man. These are the same posters who would bail on school/work for $15MM in a heartbeat.

Bowl games mean just as much now. For the first 30+ years bowls were a thing, the national champ and final polls came out before the bowls. Those truly were exhibitions. Up until the BCS, only one or two bowls mattered in regards to the national title. How is that any different than now? The only difference now is far too many people think their school should be competing for NCs every year and are incapable of patience
