Chiefs have so much more motivation to win than the Eagles do. No one will perceive the Eagles as being disappointments if they lose. They will perceive this as being the first year the door has opened for the Eagles to win a championship and that door will stay open win or lose. The media will pile on the Chiefs and declare them to be underachievers and will somehow compose a narrative that this will be the beginning of the end of their reign at the top of the NFL if they lose.

This is so dumb. You think JuJu is more motivated than AJ Brown to win the super bowl bc he wants to cement the chiefs legacy? AJ brown thinks it’s no big deal to lose bc he will get another shot? It’s the super bowl; both teams will do anything to win. “Narratives” are made up to keep espn’s shows on during the middle of the day.

I mean this is the same thing as flipping a coin and guessing heads right 7/10 times and expecting it to have any impact to guess the next coin flip

If they called the low scoring game too then that's actually really impressive.

Don't think many people saw that one coming.

I haven't watched one second of Super Bowl coverage from ESPN and it is not dumb. Both teams want to win the Super Bowl but only one team "needs" to win the Super Bowl. To the Eagles this is just about one season to the Chiefs it is about eternity and their place in NFL history. That is a higher goal than winning one Super Bowl and few teams ever even get a chance at achieving it. There is a bigger carrot in front of the Chiefs than there is in front of the Eagles. Do you think Michael Irvin and Jerry Jones would be just as happy today if Dallas had gone 1-2 in those Super Bowls? Do you think Joe Montana and Jerry Rice would be just as happy today if John Taylor had dropped that pass and Montana had been sacked on the next play? If you just look at the stats neither Terry Bradshaw, Lynn Swann, or John Stallworth belong anywhere near the Hall of Fame. They are there because they won four Super Bowls in six years and were considered to be the cornerstones of one of the greatest teams in NFL history. The Chiefs aren't playing for jewelry. They are playing for legacies and for history. That is more motivation than what the Eagles are playing for and if you can't see that you do not understand the concept of competiveness. The Eagles are competing against the Chiefs. The Chiefs are competing against the Eagles, competing against themselves, and competing against history. They have two opponents to raise the intensity factor that the Eagles do not have.

The psychology around this game feels exactly like the AFC Championship game minus the stupidity of Eli Apple, Mike Hilton, and the mayor of Cincinnati. No one is giving the Chiefs a chance to win this game and you can bet everything you own that has been pointed out to the Chiefs players. Here is a secret about the Chiefs, the more disprespected they feel the better they play. This is why they suck at covering the spread when they are double digit favorites. The more everyone declares the Eagles to win this game the more likely the Chiefs are going to be to win it. The more everyone declares the Chiefs to win the game the more likely the Eagles are to win it. You are giving the Chiefs a reason to believe they have something to prove. You aren't doing that to the Eagles.
