You're coming straight back too far and not turning your body. You should only come back about 12 inches from your ball before your start to turn.

Try addressing the ball where you have been, and then standing back about 3 inches.

(it will feel abnormal and as if you're reaching b/c you haven't been doing it)

It depends on why you are slicing, different answers with each one.

Right, without seeing his swing, NO ONE can tell him WHAT To FIX. Silly to even try. There are MANY reasons some one slices.

PLEASE don't try all this BS on here, it will screw you up. Just pay for a lesson or two, learn why you are doing it and what the pro say will fix it. Then go and hit many many balls. It is a easy fix with the right person telling you what to do.

Dude only one thing in the world creates the ball to slice. It's about the club's position on contact.

There are MANY generic techniques to cure certain swing problems. You don't have to pay for pointers.

If you try advice after advice after advice, yes, go get a lesson or 5, but don't undergo surgery for a cold.

#1 Strengthen your grip

#2 Take it back on a more inside path.

If 1 & 2 don't fix the slice, see your local PGA pro.

That's what I was thinking. After that it's off to someone that gets paid for their information.

*To the OP* if you DO take a lesson, make sure and go to someone that will video you and your swing so you can watch yourself. Take it from me, means a WORLD of difference and even worth the extra money.

Not really sure if taking back on an inside path will help a slice ....

You need to come in from the inside and swing out to hit a hook ...

I think that is easier to do if you take it back a little outside ...

I fix my slice by putting up the golf club and pulling out the fishing rod and just fishing the water hazzards for the rest of the day.

Works like a charm.

Buy clubs with more offset which gives your wrists more time to square the club at impact. What kind of irons do you play now? And don't say blades.

Swing plane certainly influences whether you hit it left or right. However as you know, the position of the clubface at impact determines where the ball is going left, straight, or right.

And concentrating on taking it back on a more inside path reduced the slice for me.
