3x MVP + 2 2nd place MVP finishes
Finals MVP (Had a damn 30/20/10 game in the finals)
7x All-Star in 10 seasons
6x All-NBA (4 first, 2 second) in 10 seasons
first player ever to finish top 3 in pts, rebounds, and assists in a single season with an absurd 29.6/12.7/10.2 season this year
He is not quite on Kareem, Wilt, Hakeem, Shaq or Bill's level...but he is at least approaching them and is in that second five tier with Robinson, Moses, etc. and he is only climbing.
And, he is only 30. He could easily win 2 more MVPs and another ring if his management doesn't keep fricking up.

Sabonis before his injuries would be on that list

He leads them to one more championship he is

Except for defense, he may be better than Hakeem

He’s not one of the best centers ever, currently maybe , ever not close
He’s better than Russell, Wilt, Olajuwon, Kareem and any other center besides Shaq from 2000-2003. And even then, he’s more skilled than Shaq ever was.
The only thing he lacks is rings between those guys. Look in the mirror and tell me Joker is not singularly better than any Center that’s ever played the game. Dude just averaged 29, 12, and 10 as a Center.
Everyone clings to rings but all those Centers had hall of famers beside them.
Russell had Cousy, Havlicek and countless others. Wilt had Hal Greer and West, Kareem had Magic, Oscar and Worthy, Olajuwon had Drexler, Shaq had Kobe and D Wade.
Those are all Hall of Famers. Joker has NEVER played with even a current All Star. Westbrook doesn’t count.
Jokic is the most under appreciated all time talent we’ve ever seen. He’s GOAT
Put those Centers I named on this Nugget squad, do they do what they did? No. Put Jokic in any period of NBA history and he still puts these numbers up

All those other guys except Shaq played in a smaller league and a league with less international talent.

Stop it. Jeez man, he’s great for this era and he deserves to be mentioned with the greats but he’s not Shaq or Hakeem or Ewing and that bunch. Those guys would eat him alive.
Posted on 5/15/25 at 10:47 pm to Madking
Hakeem and Ewing did not have the complete offensive game Joker does.
Hakeem was a great defensive player.

Besides passing their offensive games were better. They’re taller, longer, more athletic, faster better footwork, better post up game. If you put anyone of those guys at the FT line, where Joker plays, and spread the court around them nobody today would stop them or even come close. Joker can’t guard any of those guys but they can guard him. Not saying they’d shut him out or anything like that but they're better players.

Ewing could not guard Joker outside. Wilt didn't like to stray from the paint.
Russ and Hakeem could give him problems, but he's bigger than both.

What does WHITE have to do with anything????

quote:Well bigger’s a pretty important variable. Particularly when they’d each get physically bullied by a modern PF
Russ and Kareem could give him problems, but he's bigger than both.
Bill Russell - 6’10”, 215 pounds
Kareem - 7’2”, 225 pounds
Jokic - 6’11”, 285 pounds
They barely even left the paint on both sides of the court. Jokic is a Point Center who this year shot better from three than STEPH CURRY. They aren’t covering that or the passing lanes he opens up when forced to be away from their tiny 10-foot defensive radius
Similarly, their offensive games were non-existent outside of the paint. Joker’s setting up shop defensively and with his 60+ pound advantage he’s not moving a damn inch. Unless Kareem is shooting 80% from the hook he’s not doing shite. Reality is Joker would get more exhausted on offense

There’s no way in hell they give him problems, which for the same reasons above can be said about anyone on the list other than perhaps Shaq in his athletic prime. Everyone else Joker could beat however he feels like

I didn’t mention Wilt because he’s not on that level. Ewing was a defensive star first. His offensive game developed but he dominated on D because he had unbelievable range. Why wouldn’t he be able to guard him?
Posted on 5/15/25 at 11:09 pm to RemouladeSawce
He's not bigger than Kareem. I corrected that
Posted on 5/15/25 at 11:12 pm to RemouladeSawce
I don’t comcider Jokic an actual center. He is a gadget player that can do everything.
Posted on 5/15/25 at 11:13 pm to Madking
Everyone expected Ewing to be the next Russell, but he was never at that level defensively.

Wait you’re saying he wasn’t as good as Bill Russell? Did you watch any of these guys play? You know how tiny the paint was during Russell and Wilts peak seasons? They could basically stand under the basket all game long. Wilts numbers were more than cut in half when the lane was widened.

Ewing wasn't nearly as good as Russell defensively. Hakeem was much better on defense than Ewing.
Posted on 5/15/25 at 11:18 pm to FightinTigersDammit
Ok you never saw these guys play. Just say that
Posted on 5/15/25 at 11:19 pm to Madking
I saw them all play except Russell. And Ewing couldn't hold Hakeem's jock on defense.
