How much does Butler move the needle for the Sixers?

I think the Butler addition has been somewhat underrated of a move by the Sixers. They are getting a guy now that can be that Go-To scorer next to Embiid and allow simmons to stay where he is most comfortable which is facilitating. This opens up shots for Redick with the defense now having to respect Butler on the outside, Simmons drives and Embiid in general. I think it’s a move that makes the Celtics sweat a little about the ECF.

What is Fultz’s role?
2nd primary playmaker?

Can’t play Butler-Simmons-Fultz-Embid(-J.J?). Together...I think ?!?

Fultz is a lost cause. Guy is either injured or has issues up top. Either way you spell it, he’s a bust. Maybe good as trade bait

I say you try to trade Fultz and see what the market is first. He showed a lot at Washington but can’t seem to figure it out

it means nothing if Simmons isn't able to develop his jumper and knock down free throws. May as well be pissing in the wind

they're more than sweating. Sixers are clear favorites over them. Not sure where Toronto fits right now.

nothing but ignorance. Magic Johnson couldn't shoot any better at this point in his career. I guess you think Rondo was pissing into the wind on those Celtic teams.

Imagine if the Sixers had traded Fultz and the Sacremento first round pick for Kawhi Leonard. They would have a team of
PG - Reddick
SG - Butler
SF - Leonard
PF - Simmons
C - Embiid

yep.
Incredible he didn't dedicate 8 hours a day to it.
He's got his.

nothing..
Maybe an expiring contract.

He can't shoot. No one needs that.

We'll see if he fits well enough to get them over the top. He's an obvious talent upgrade, but he's an inconsistent shooter and a better slasher.

I worry about next to Simmons and Fultz. They need the Butler who hits 36-37% from downtown and not the guy who's been under 33%. Covington could shoot and space the floor, which they need with two nonshooters.

I doubt if the Spurs were interested in Fultz unless he was a part of a bigger package.

They will be very good but I still don’t like their spacing.

Toronto and Boston are still better imo despite Boston’s early struggles. Bucks look very tough as well

They become legitimate contenders for ECC.

Simmons
JJ
Butler
Chandler
Embiid

That needs to be the lineup and let Fultz run the 2nd unit.

Very certain that will be the lineup come February unless Fultz improves. It's obvious both Fultz and Simmons are better with the other off the floor right now.

Its a calculated risk.

The upside is pretty decent-- the downside, though, could be the premature end of a developing core, and getting into cap hell earlier than needed.

They have made their floor spacing worse; Jimmy needs the ball to be effective, and they already have two ball dominant types; they have removed Simmons' two favorite passing targets, as well.

That said, they added star power, and will be well equipped to sometimes just lock people down defensively.

Its a risk you take in their position, because this kind of opportunity is rare enough.

the Warriors are still the overwhelming favorite for the title, but the 76ers are absolutely in the running to compete for titles now.

The East is no longer the weak conference. Between the Raptors, Bucks, Celtics, 76ers, and Pacers. The West may still be better, but East is not that far behind.

Yeah? Magic Johnson also hit his free throws at 85% for his career and his lowest was a 76% clip in his 2nd and 3rd seasons

Towards the end of a crucial game, Simmons is gonna be driving the lane, you think Brad Stevens won't be afraid to foul him hard and make him beat the Celtics at the charity stripe?
