They know the risks and get paid accordingly.
This is what you would have said in 1975 when they DIDN'T get paid accordingly.

First thing I'd do is get rid of the Thursday games.

I generally don’t care if some prima-donna that can barely spell his own name, gets paid better than 99.99999% of human beings in the world, and acts like they’re God’s gift to football, get hurt.

If most of the athletes were likable, I’d probably care more. But a lot of them are so unlikable that I couldn’t care less if they had career-ending injuries.

Player safety has watered down the sport, especially when it concerns the QB.

Hell, all a defensive player has to do is perform a regular tackle on a QB and there is a good chance there will be a flag. Like many defensive players said years ago when things started changing------"Well let's just put skirts on them and be done with it".

A lot of players suffer long term physical effects from the beating they take during their careers and that comes with the territory when playing a sport like football. Especially when you consider they've been playing since they were kids and have taken thousands of hits over that time.

Not to say I'd want to see any player suffer long term neurological effects because of the game, but sometimes that shite is going to happen no matter how many rules are in place. Just like boxing and the number of fighters who develop pugilistic dementia after their careers.
