Depends on who they fighting and who they are.

Some guys stay in shape constantly while others don't

probably varies widely....i would think the weight cut, style of fighter (is it an unorthodox or new type of opponent), quality of opponent, length of fight, fighter's normal fitness level, recent fight load, etc all factor in.

I love how they made Drago look 9 foot tall by only shooting up at him. I guess at that point no one knew tht Sly was only 5'5.

"I don't want to ruin it for you but Sly wins this one tooo"... "He kicks his arse" GOOO ROCKOOO

varies wildly depending on the fighter. Some guys do it in 6 weeks or less, some guys longer then that.

id say in general 6-12 weeks.

all depends on ones recovery, training protocols, etc.

of course applying mma training without a strength and conditioning aspect would be different. but as far as peak conditioning id say that training limit is optimal based on the literature of sports in general.

of course training year round is necessary but the volume intensity can't be at peak all year round even if on drugs.

no doubt flipping square bales of hay and eating fried eggs lead to that win

Ricky Hatton started his training camp 3 months away from Floyd fight...
I started mine 12 weeks away from my next fight, but I was out of shape and hadnt fought in a while. Hadnt done anything in a while because of the knee, so I felt I needed alot of time.

Clementi never stops training, but will start doing the extra things, like twice a day workouts, and bringing in sparring and workout partners from out of town about 6 weeks out from a fight

when do you start your taper? And how much of the taper is determined by your weight cut?

Taper off? only a week for me. And none of it has to do with my weight cut.

Has to do with my body needing to rest and heal up
