Lol. Pat is awful. College Gameday is barely watchable anymore.

I watched his interview of Saban on his show and couldn't understand how anyone finds what he does entertaining, amusing, or even tolerable. Saban just ignores his stupidity and tries to pick out the actual question in his juvenile ramblings.

He generates social media clicks, which might actually be more valuable than TV these days.

I have no idea but they apparently have 40 million dollars worth of value they pay him annually. Someone up the food chain must see or think it.

So he doesn't bring any value. Him bringing"goodwill" implies that people like him, and therefore view him and ESPN favorably.

He drives social media clicks.

OK....all of this attention and clicks is derived from him delivering terrible hot takes. People overwhelmingly don't like him. People don't tune in. People don't watch ESPN, and have been dropping them in droves, hence the mass layoffs.

How exactly is pissing people off and turning them "creating goodwill."

Creating goodwill and awareness through social media videos only works if it gets people to turn your network on, but your product, patronize your business, etc.

Essentially some of you are in this thread trying to argue that Flo from Progressive or LiMu Emu from Liberty are good things.

Most people hate those commercials, they're annoying, and since they piss them off, they don't patronize those insurance companies.

Stephan A is the human embodiment of that. He drives viewers away that he could otherwise capture if it weren't for his absurd hot takes, which are precisely the impetus behind why his videos garner social media clicks.

Just because someone clicks on a shared video of him doesn't mean people are agreeing with it, nor is it necessarily engendering goodwill on behalf of ESPN.

To not know or care about Stephan A. you sure have a lot of opinions about him… the irony is that this is his value … ESPN knows his mere existence piss some of you off enough to click on an article
