I bet that 95% of Lebron haters watch more than two hours of ESPN daily. This absolutely disqualifies them from having any intelligence whatsoever.

I think a lot of casual fans just come out for the playoffs because that's really when everything picks up and gets interesting

That and the playoffs are long enough to give you a good enough sample size for viewing the teams/players

Agreed. Much longer than NFL, MLB, NHL

Sure. But the question is "how could someone possibly like him?" which is a crazy question. Just as is "How could someone possibly hate him (or anyone else)"?

Agree here. I think that question is wrong, as well, because I see why people like LeBron. I think on the whole he's a decent guy. I don't think he's the angel a lot of his fans are making him out to be in this thread, but compared to some of the actions by Jordan/Kobe (i.e. the gambling/infidelity) he stacks up well, as far as we are aware (we will probably never know for sure, nor should we).

I do not hate LeBron (admittedly time helps heal wounds) especially on a non-basketball level. I hope for nothing bad to happen to him on a personal scale. I hope he has an injury-free career. I hope he and his wife and their beautiful children have long, happy lives together. I just hope on a basketball level that he doesn't win a championship, because I am a fan of the Cleveland Cavaliers. Basketball only, nothing in his personal life/health. I think that's acceptable.

but my big beef is that first he CLEARLY quit on his team, and THEN decided to do the decision, and hour long special just so he could say he was going to leave. then you can throw in the pep rally or whatever you want.

put on your vagisil.
pull up your pampers.
think back to 2001
realize you were never a Cavs fan in the first place.

Um, I am. I don't know why you keep saying I don't care about the NBA. I don't follow it as much as you or as much as I follow some other sports. There can be different levels. That doesn't mean I don't watch the NBA or the Cavs when I can or follow them in the draft/free agency or that I don't care. I self-admittedly am not as invested in the Cavs as I am in ND or the Blue Jackets or some other teams. That does not mean that how the Cavs do does not affect me. I don't get as much joy out of a Cavs win as I do out of a ND/Jackets win, and I don't get as much pain out of a loss, sure. That doesn't mean I don't care. Unless you can only be a fan of two or three sports.

If I wasn't a Cavs fan, why would I care about what happens with LeBron on the basketball floor? I wouldn't.

I think that's a quite respectable take if you are a Cleveland fan

You are such a tool.

We can simply not like a guy. How is that so bad?

Its funny because you clearly like Lebron more because of the hate he receieves, but at the same time you are quick to criticize Lebron haters for what you claim to be irrational hate.

You want to question why I don't like Lebron along with everyone else, and we are giving you answers.

I am not going out of my way to complain about him....it is brought up in every Lebron topic and that is my response.

You and a few others are more butthurt about people hating Lebron than the people who actually hate him.

you said on this very board you never cared about the cavs before lebron james, you said on this very board you were not an NBA fan.

it'd be like me getting my jimmy's rustled because of rich nash desire to leave the bluejackets like im some hardcore NHL, bluejacket enthusiast. youre frauding hard ITT.

please tell me what is so terrible about starting to like a team with local roots because the best basketball prospect of all time plays there?

And then not be happy with how he leaves?

how are you suddenly disqualified from any opinion on the matter? Why can I not like Lebron James...if I wasn't a huge NBA fan beforehand?

i like lebron because i grew up watching him as a kid playing ball across ohio. seeing him win state basketball titles. seeing his passion for the game. admiring his desire to make everyone happy (even though he often fails). he comes from nothing, no father, no family, and he has still developed into one of the more level-headed star athletes of our lifetimes. it may sound cheesy, but i can say he is likely the most gifted athlete i have ever saw he comes from my home state. that is why i like lebron james my friend.

That is great, but I don't think you can tell me that the hate he receives does not increase his likability to you at all?

All I am saying is that is as irrational as you claim the hate of Lebron to be.

i could care less what you do, i would never let something i wasnt concerned too much with develop into a dislike.

once again, some ppl do not possess the mental propensity to see beyond trivial matters. blame your genetic coding, i suppose.

I think this is fine as well.

As an LSU fan I hear all the time that I need to get over Saban coaching Bama and I think why should I? He is the coach of a different team, his success means a lack of success for my team either directly or indirectly.

As long as you aren't wishing harm or personal problems on a person i don't understand what's wrong with sports hating them.
