GS had a huge st Jude tournament today that had to be moved to June

It was 2 full flights with a long waiting list

Probably for the best. They aerated the fairways and rough a week or two ago and they need time.

Same, but it only gets you so far

I love bluffs layout even more, but it's condition can be very hit or miss too

It's no Money Hill, which is my favorite layout by far.

Copper Mill and The Bluffs don't belong in the same thread.

Maybe right now they don't, but don't forget that copper was once on golf digests top 100 or whatever it was, so let's not act like it was a ranch

Both courses have struggled with money and inconsistent conditioning

How you can't see the similarities is beyond me

Bluffs is still trying to get 72 bucks to play it too

At least copper realized they needed to drop prices considerably

Sucks, used to be my favorite course near BR.
I shot my first 78 there! It's gone to shite though

It's all preferential, but if I had to list my favorite holes from both courses, in order, it would be a little bit before I got to a hole from Copper Mill.

But I agree they have similarities in terms of money problems.

Sherwood had no money and like 3 maintenance employees, but kept that place in great shape for the amount of play it got. The people at Copper are just lazy.

Calling the maintenance staff lazy is pretty unfair unless you have true inside knowledge that they are doing nothing to correct these troubles. Each course is different and budgets get eaten up prior to products and equipment being purchased needed to make changes.

I was the guy taking care of Sherwood. I appreciate those comments. I did have 5 employees though. Lol. I can assure you the maintenance crew at Coppermill isn't lazy. Its a whole different animal than Sherwood.

Coppermill has different greens than Sherwood had. Coppermill has more acres to maintain than Sherwood had. Coppermill has much less equipment than Sherwood had. Sherwood had much less little things to maintain. Most people have no clue what it takes. Sherwood was pretty easy to maintain. Coppermill isn't by a long shot. Glad someone sees that.

Sherwood had a large number of douche members that would hold up the pace of play.

The issue is, don't book 12 groups of 4somes between 9 and 10.
That problem doesn't cost anything to fix.

Had the best greens and best baton rouge golfers from '08-'13 so must have been doing something right out there. $300k to maintain 18 with 5 guys. You do it and see how it looks.

I liked Sherwood for what it was

It was basically a well manicured Webb park in my eyes, and it was pretty convenient to where I lived.

Yea, that was our problem out there. Members had guaranteed tee times and always played big groups when public wanted to play.
