I feel so fortunate that the club I joined (greystone) seems to be doing very well. They have a fairly large membership so they don't have to do much to cater to the public even though there are some decent weekday promos.

Outside of CCL, UClub and BRCC, none of the other metro BR courses seem to be doing well keeping a core membership and not have to deal with a large portion of the public hackers

I understand that fully and agree but its a money thing. Can't spend money you don't have. Trust me, the range is the least of there concerns. Greens, bunkers and clubhouse is more priority. There are plenty of courses around the country that don't have ranges and they do fine. The warmup area needs the be free and I guarantee the complaints would be cut more than half into.

The lack of range will have no effect on me playing copper mill.

I rarely if ever hit balls before I play. It would be nice for members to have a range to use, but I understand why they couldn't keep it. Those birdie balls are a joke

The area is just saturated with too many places to play and if one slips just a little, everyone goes somewhere else.

You make a lot of sense. Hopefully they will pull it through. It's a fun layout to play.

It was definitely saturated but it seems like we've lost quite a few courses in the past 10 years and gained none.

Even still, it seems like more are on the verge of closing up shop.

I know from the maintenance side of Coppermill, everything is being done to the course that can be done with the money, equipment and the nasty weather they have been given. It will get better. Give it time.

Nope, let's just say I know exactly whats going on out there though. So, yea, I'm trying to put the word out on what's really going on out there to help them out.

Yea, I was part of a course closing twice in 5 years. Its still saturated enough though to where u have plenty of options that can still hurt incomes on certain course's budgets.

I play out there quite a bit and enjoy the layout for a reasonable price. I'm sure the greens will come around after the heavy spring rains. We don't need another golf course closing in an already terrible area for golf course options.

It was so bad I left after 9 last trip there and won't return, took 3.5/4 hours to play the front and we played an 8some on 6,7,8,9.... No thanks, I guess you can call me spoiled on course conditions but it was def a goat ranch, 2 tee box may be the worst thing I've seen in years.

I believe you, but the fact remains... go drive 3 mins down the raod to Fennwood. Same weather, smaller budget, not near the equipment fleet, and the greens are pretty darn good.

Copper blows and has blown for the last half decade to decade. Courses like it only serve the purpose of taking away from other courses.

It's always about the budget, I wonder how much the assesment is to the Home owners is. The course itself is not that bad, my big issue was the pace of play,

The range is an issue I always warm up before i play

I remember last year when Beaver did an aggressive aerification they reduced the green fees accordingly,
took a while but they are pretty decent,
Copper is fighting an uphill battle in my opinion,i hope they can pull it thru

It's not about the budget, it's about what you do with a small budget.

Sherwood had no money and like 3 maintenance employees, but kept that place in great shape for the amount of play it got. The people at Copper are just lazy.

Until further notice. Mid summer would be my guess.
