no, but it doesn't shock me, given the three people you listed and how he's panned out
dude is fricking crazy, can be an a-hole, and can be a ballhog, but when he's on, he's on
somehow in memphis of all places he finds zen

To be fair he played with a bunch of asses early on in Portland then got shipped off to NYC in a circus like situation. Memphis has been his only stop with normalcy.

No way is Scola a top 5 PF.
I beg to differ. ever watch him play? watch him over the summer during the fiba tournament? he can do everything and has great range to boot. definitely top5 to me.

Scola is the 5th best PF in his own division.

You put Scola in your top 5 when guys like Aldridge, West, and Randolph helped lead their team to the playoffs in the Western Conference with equal or better stats? Why?

He's not top 5 but he's a really good player.
I would break them down into a few tiers
Pau
Dirk
Amare
Randolph
Aldrige
Bosh
Love
Griffin
KG
Duncan
Boozer
Scola
West
Josh Smith
Probably leaving a few off, but that's how I would group those guys

Dirk > Amare, IMO. Also, what about Aldridge, Love, and Griffin?

I wasn't really ranking them, just grouping them. I do think Scola is a better PF but it's debatable for sure.

It's a toss up. I'd love to see what Scola would do with a PG like Paul.

quote:cause I believe he's top5. The difference between him and a #6 or #7 PF aren't big at all, it's not like there's a huge gap there. While memphis, por, and NO all made the playoffs, they also have better centers and better team chemistry. Records and stats don't tell all.
Why?
Camby and Okafor are both better than what Houston has had to work with at center. They have brad freaking miller and a 6-6 chuck hayes splitting time @ C. While Hayes is a great defender, he's not much of a scorer and doesn't help rebound much for a center...but hell, he's only 6-6 playing against 7-footers. The Yao injury has really screwed Houston with their frontcourt situation, and then they lost/traded their team leader and floor general during the season.

Z-Bo making 3pters in playoff games now. As SlowFlowPro said, when he's on, he's on. And when he's not, he may be running a marijuana ring, lol. Hopefully he has truly flipped the switch for good.

and to the guy who tiered them above, Josh Smith doesn't really play PF this year. He has moved to SF with the addition of Collins.

Randolph is better than Scola.
