Missionary work varies in where they go. Many athletes at BYU are stateside where they are able to train and workout. Sure some go to Paris and Buenos Aires and some stay in US or go to Canada. It's pretty neat how many lineman when they come back form mission are bigger and stronger.

But how “fanatical” is their fan base? Do they live and die by football, sell out stadiums, buy tons of licensed products, and donate tons of money like Oklahoma?

Um… actually yes.

This is a view from the cattle ranch in back of my in-laws land in Utah. The mountain range in the background is the Tipanagos mountains. On the other side of that range is Provo and BYU.

The in-laws have offered us land to build on and move to. The back of that land extends to the Provo River. This is a pic my wife took when she went out there recently to walk the plot with my FIL. The trout fishing here is very good, the Park City ski resort area is only 15 miles away, and there's lakes nearby as well as a bunch of really nice golf courses, hiking trails galore, and great places to take the ATV out to for fun.

There's a swampy area in the cattle ranch that a creek runs through and we've got an application to get approval to dredge and turn that area into a large stock pond and use the dirt to build up the area of the lot for the home to go on. My son ran the Razor into the muck earlier this summer and had to use the tractor to pull him out. You can see where the creek runs through. They own the water rights on the land, but because it's a tributary creek we have to go through the process of approvals.

We live in the DFW area. It's been 51 days in a row of 100+ degrees this summer, and 61 straight days without any measurable rainfall. A change might do me good. Planning to retire, soon, and building a house might be just thing I need to focus on and the in-laws could use some help with the managing the cattle and hay fields.

Very nice. It sounds like you are going to take the offer. It looks like a fun and scenic place to be. It's been quite hot too. And only recently did we get any worthwhile rain. I would love to escape all the humidity here. One of my friends from work moved somewhere near Logan or Provo several years ago.

They now play from Florida up to West Virginia and down to Texas. Going to help their recruiting and people underestimate the size of the BYU brand.

There are a lot of Mormons in them hills and hollas in ole West Virgini'. You can tell because they are the only ones who steal have all their teeth.
