They didn't win their conference and there weren't any P5 champs with multiple losses. This isn't hard.

It's the old better to lose early than lose late that the BCS was supposed to eliminate.

Normally the other conferences are bad enough to allow at least 1 SEC team or possibly 2 in without a complaint. This year that didn’t happen and here we are.

I think the committee learned a lesson though by not putting a sure loss team in just due to their record. People want to see a quality product and it was pretty obvious that FSU wasn’t that. But Georgia certainly was and it’s a shame they got left out.

Just win.

Good question. 2 time defending Champs, #1 all season, losing in their conference title game. No way they drop below #3

I just long for the chaos if Bama would have been left out.

The National Championship game was held this past weekend with Alabama narrowly defeating Georgia in a close one.

Let's get rid of the conference championship game - whoever is seeded the highest at the end of the season wins their conference (congratulations). Then let's have the "best 8 teams" have a playoff for the National championship. It will still be a flawed system, but it would be a lot better than the one now. There is no way Georgia should be left out from having a shot at the title. It hurts to lose late in the season that's for sure.

Because they blew it when it mattered most. They had their chance to play their way in and choked. They don't deserve it. If they were as good as they were supposed to be, they would have taken care of business yesterday. They didn't, and they were correctly punished for it.

Bama looked dominant?

No, they didn't.

The question was about UGA, so I responded about UGA.

Late season losses are often weighed heavier than earlier.

Ugly penalties.

Turnovers.

Sloppy play overall.

They lost their quarterfinal game the same way Oregon did and didn't deserve to be in. UGA looked like shite for the most part yesterday.

But how about OSU? They got jumped by 2 schools and their loss was to #1. Why did they rank them 6th and then just pass them over?

They didn’t play anyone this weekend. The two teams that jumped them won conference championships. I have zero problem with OSU getting jumped.
