Pretty sure the Americans explicitly said this was their strategy with how they set up the course at Hazeltine.

That was a decade ago when they still had guys like Andy Sullivan and Chris Wood on the team

According to data golf, the Americans are projected to be .4 yards longer on an average drive. .4! 15 inches. The euros have Rahm, Rory, and Ludvig 3 of the best like 5 drivers of the golf ball on the world and Rasmus Hoojgard who was 7th this year in driving distance. Length off the tee will not be why Europe loses.

The biggest statistical skill deviation between the 2 teams is putting and around the greens

The fans are going to be awful. A bunch of idiot New Yorkers trying to see who can get the best instagram clip of being an obnoxious a-hole.

Yeah I can see a few players getting pissed.

No it’s not. Other than the LIV guys, every player on the team is a full time PGA Tour player and has been for years other than Rasmus Hogaard. It’s not near the advantage it was 25 years ago

So Hazeltine 2016 was 9 years ago. I’m not sure why can’t you just ever admit you are wrong or acknowledge you may have exaggerated. Course setup provably played a role at the last Ryder cup. Also, we didn’t talk about France, where the Europeans made it all about driving accuracy with narrow fairways and brutal rough. Insanely we did nothing to choose players and pairings to play to those strengths, and got embarrassed.

Because I’m not

The European team is definitely not worse at driving the ball and could very easily be better if the wild guys like JT have a bad week off the tee

Phil wouldn’t have been able to keep on your local muni that week. The American team just played like dog shite all over the course. There is no Andy Sullivan on this team, and I don’t think there ever will be again with the discrepancy of money between the American and European Tours
