Thought we were done with MVP. Tbt with reg season being over. Last exit poll look like 90ish% of first place votes for James. I will make this thread into a victory lap for hardwn tho real quick if anyone wants to

We are. He'll win this year going away.

However, we know who is more valuable to their team's success. It's been LeBron James since at least 2007-2008, and arguably as far back as the 2005-2006 season.

Lgm shouldn’t get credit for running off Irving

Harden recruited Paul and made the team better. That shouldn’t be knock on him.

This thread's motivation is about 30% to irk a few Houston fans, if possible, and 70% to illustrate how important LeBron's individual success is to his team's success. When he's bad, his teams simply do not win.

With no Hardwn, Houston has no Chris Paul either. He woulda went play somewheres else. So they are a sub 20 win team without Hardwn.

Hardwn = most valuable to his team

If you wanna play that game

Agreed.

I'm using their career numbers in the OP.

CP3 would be a Cavalier if Irving decided to bail earlier.

Hey Einstein,

The award is NBA MVP. Not who is most valuable to their team.
But it isnt that either

Because every single swinging dick in the world besides you would say LeBron is still the NBA Mvp

The award is really "The best statistical season, with also a little bias towards not giving it to the same players over and over again"

It has always been best player on one of the top elite teams.

Except for last year.

Glad to see it go back to what it should be this year. If your sqaud doesn’t even win 50 you shouldn’t be the MVP.

Wrong. Chris chose hardwn over Lebron. Best chance at a title. He obviously chose correctly too.

A stickied Boom/Harden/Rockets shitposting thread is really an excellent idea to clean this board up

How about a victory lap::::

Make this the OP of the sticky thread.

Since Harden joined CC he leads the league in points scored and win shares.

Harden has lead the league in win shares 3 times joining a list of 6 players in league history as 3 time leaders.

Harden has been top 2 in MVP three of four years.

Harden has been first team all NBA in four of the last five seasons.

Harden lead the rockets this year to the most efficient offense of all time prior to clinching the #1 seed.

Harden was the best isolation defender in the league on postups.

Harden offensive efficiency in isolation possessions was the highest ever recorded in the history of the league.

Harden has the first and only 60 point triple double.
He also has the only 50/15/15 game in league history.

There are 2 games in nba history where a player has created over 90 points in a game with his scoring and points off of his assist. Wilt has one in the 100 point game, the other two games belong to James.

Isn’t that history only a few seasons, at least since the data has been available to the public?

bruh if you are so insecure about harden to post all these useless stats like (runner up stats, and iso d in the post) you need just stay off here. If a player is that good, no one needs to be posting their accolades to justify it.

Well nba.com has Isolation and other playtype data for 3 seasons. So where can one go to access these data, and how far back does it go?

well he is defiantly “that good” but he is not on mike Jordan level of not even needing his resume posted. And after a year like this, I will take a “victory lap” every chance we get. It is his year.

Wrong. Lebron win shares since 2012-2013 season - 86.1. Harden is at 85.7.

However, Harden does lead the league in turnovers during that time. He's been #1 in turnovers in 4 of his 6 season in Houston. He was 5th in 13-14 and 3rd this year.

So not the most efficient offense of all time in a season? Not even as good as last year's Houston offensive efficiency, right? 11th best all time, FWIW.

Harden has twice broken the NBA all-time record for turnovers in a season. He set the record with 374 in 15-16, and last season he obliterated it with 464 turnovers.

No player has more 10+ turnover games than Harden with 9.

Something you aren't taking into account is that Harden shoots more 3's and free throws than LeBron does.

So even though his field goal percentage is lower, his TS% is just as good if not better than LeBron's... and that affects the outcome of the game.

So Harden could have below a 23% FG%, but it's deceiving because he is still being productive offensively in other ways.

For example... in 2013 in a win against the Warriors, Harden shot 3 of 17 from the field for a FG% of 17.6%. But he made 3 three's, 11 free throws, and finished with 20 points and had 11 assists.

Not the best performance, but it's much better than a 17% fg% on 17 shots would lead you to believe.
