This wasn't really the point. It was a culmination of the game. The umpire had a horrendous strike zone (which isn't really that rare) but that call was just kind of what finally lit the fuse. The ump was bad. The game will get reviewed and he'll probably get disciplined for it because he was awful. He's not the one that lost them the game, but it's unacceptable for an MLB umpire to do shite like that.
Couldn't have said it better myself

It doesn't, but still doesn't warrant Molina to go crazy either. Situation was handled poorly all the way around.
I won't disagree with that but it is important to note that as others have stated that this was more of the final straw that broke the camels back
The umpire had been frustrating to both teams all game and especially frustrating to us in the the 9th. You could see it and both Yadi and Brebbia's body language (especially Yadi's) that he just wanted to lose his shite but just wanted to try to finish off the game
Once ump called time he lost it and IF the ump told him "I needed a break" I don't blame him, I would've lost my shite too
But no way to know if he actually told him that or not

That might have been the longest I've ever seen someone take between pitches in my life. It was excruciating painful. There was no reason for that, other than being a dbag in that situation.

I'll say again, that may be but that doesn't mean the umpire is then allowed to break the rules

Anyone have a link to the clip?

Like I said, it was handled poorly by all involved for sure including MLB who has been sitting on their hands forever in coming up with a solution to shorten games and time between pitches. That is the only thing that keeps MLB unwatchable for most of the people.

They say Joe Torre sends them little notes about their bad games, but won't do a thing about it.
MLB Umpire is one of best gigs going. Do a shite job(Hernandez, buckner, west, etc) and continue getting paid to do the job.

I don't have the ecact rule number in front of me and I'm sure I won't use the exact correct terminology but he called time while the game was in play without any player requesting it
They are only allowed to do that under very specific circumstances involving weather, an ejected player, etc.

So if I drive 90 mph down a highway that he a 55 mph speed limit but I don't wreck does that mean I shouldn't get a speeding ticket Bc I didn't wreck or hurt anyone?
The rule is a rule for a reason and it should be followed in all cases otherwise one day it will effect "frickall"
Youre such a square.

Yea that was rough
Fortunately, or unfortunately I guess, I never had to endure being hit with a ball in nuts while wearing a cup. I wouldn't think it would hurt that bad but he looked like he was in a lot of pain but I can't imagine him catching without one

I caught three that I can remember without a cup
None were fun but the worst was a short hop that without getting graphic literally came up from straight underneath me. In other words from the ground straight up to under my boys with no obstacles In between
I wanted to cry
