Neville will provide the Bulldogs with a formadable opponent- we hadn't really had one since district play began. But make no mistake about it- Lutcher will win!
We did appreciate the 5-A teams we played prior to district play. They helped us to ready ourselves for the run to the dome...

Why do people just annoint Lutcher as the 4A champs? THEY'VE PLAYED 2 TEAMS WITH A WINNING RECORD, 2!!!! Neville has played 6 teams with a winning record: Ouachita, West Monroe, Marshall, TX, Carroll, Ruston, and Bastrop. Neville was 1 yard from upsetting WM. Marshall, who is averaging 40 points a game including the Neville game, didn't score until the second team came in in the 4th quarter. The same goes for the Carroll game. Their TD's came in the 4th when the jv was playing and the game was well in hand. Carroll just happens to be the 4 seed in 3A. Neville was down to WM 20-3 at half (I think) and came back to take the lead in the 4th. They got a penalty on 3rd and 1 with less than 2 min's to play that made it 3rd and 6. They weren't able to convert and WM was able to drive the field and score with less than a minute to play. In the Ouachita game, Neville spotted them 14 then came back and scored 55 points in basically 2 quarters. Neville gave up half their points in the first 2 games of the year. Since the WM game they have been flat out shutting people down.

Everybody knows Lutcher has a great team but they aren't gonna just walk to the Dome. How come they only scored 28 on weak-arse Scotlandville? They scored 28 on Hahnville in regulation. Hell Neville did that to WM in basically a half. I would take West Monroe's D over Hahnville's all day long. Saying "make no mistake about it, Lutcher will win" like its a forgone conclusion is just setting yourself up for a major disappointment.

cause StMichael is gonna beat Franklinton which just about leaves Lutcher by themselves.

You obviously haven't seen Lutcher play. Maybe you'll make it to the dome and watch us play.

I appreciate the play-by-play of Neville's gridiron prowess. I am still confident that Lutcher will handle any opponent we face on our run to the dome.
Mind you, I don't expect us to win by landslides, we only need to score 1 point more than our opponents. If ya'll are lucky, ya'll may get to play us.

I wish we could somehow see a Hahnville-Lutcher rematch; game was classic. Hahnville got themselves in hole early due to fumbles but came back to force 2 overtimes. If these 2 played 10 times, they would probably each win 5 of them.

Cause the game was played in a downpour maybe

34 actually. Lutcher won 42-34

Gavin Webster, and most other starters, haven't played more than 3 quarters since the Hahnville game. Lutcher's offense is unstoppable. I don't care how good anyone's defense is they won't stop Lutcher. I'm not saying it'll be a cake walk, but Lutcher is definitely the logical choice in 4A

Quite possibly the greatest football game I've ever been to. Easily the best high school game I've ever been to. I agree that those teams are probably even and would split

General, Ive seen Neville play and Lutcher play in person.

Lutcher should beat Neville by 21+. Simply b/c Lutcher can THROW THE FOOTBALL. I saw MULTIPLE times in the WM/Neville game where Cody Stone (#21) for WM was WIDE open/uncovered and other times WM's other WR's would just burn Nevilles corners.

BTW, Im pretty sure Lutcher has a better pass defense than WM so I dont see Neville scoring a quick 21 pts like they did against WM.

If Lutcher can match up speed wise (which I believe they can a WHOLE lot better than WM) than they should have NO problem stopping an above average Neville offense. If they blitz Burch he will shut it down. WM did this and all Burch could do was fire the ball 60yds into open space.

WM got burned three times by Jeremy Runner on a simple over the middle pass that WM missed 3 tackles on.

Lutcher/Neville prediction:

Lutcher 49-21

WM could have EASILY scored 40 pts with a healthy QB. They were up 21-0 early b/c their oline DOMINATED Nevilles front 7.

Honestly I dont know if Neville will make it to the semis to face Lutcher. A good passing team will kill them. Same goes for WM.

You guys might beat Lutcher, but you will lose to Franklinton in the dome so it doesn't matter........

Parkview Baptist vs Notre Dame for the 3-A Title. I think Parkview wins in a close one. Dileo is the real deal. He is a difference maker.
