Also, if it's a superiority deal how can you justify playing Nicholls State? La Tech is too good to play ULM, but they aren't too good to play Nicholls State?

They aren't scared to lose to Nicholls State, they're terrified of ULM and ULL (i'll say ULL here so it doesn't break away to a different argument).

Our basketball program is down for the time being, but we were the top program in the state in the early part of the decade. It's natural for it to go in waves. The last time yall made the tourny was in 91, we've been there 3 times since the last time yall made it.

Tech has a national reputation from many moons ago from Bradshaw and the Mailman. but ULL has Delhomme.

I wouldn't say that Tech is better. Just in recent years (last 3) it seems that many of the alumni were putting pressure on the admin to do something around athletics. We were tired of giving our money to the university and not seeing anything for our return. Facilities were in poor maintenance, etc. Many old alum were very content with just being a middle of the row Southland or Sunbelt member. I'm not saying that the WAC is equal to an AQ conference, but I'm tired of sending money and the administration being content with mediocrity. If you don't strive to do better things and are willing not willing to improve, then you wont. If Tech does not make a good coach choice and we see continued improvement around all athletic programs and facilities, then I will stop giving money.
