I'm still conflicted. I like the effect it has had on the game but the one thing that makes baseball special from any other team sport historically has been not having any kind of clock or time limit in the rules. I don't like changing that.

This is a bit of a misnomer in my opinion.

By and large, batters were the ones slowing down pace of play to a crawl over the last two decades with their bullshite performative routines after every pitch.

Now we don’t have to see a batter take a pitch and then step out of the box, put his bat under his arm, readjust his gloves, readjust his helmet, gaze in the distance, take a practice swing, and dig back in.

I’m glad we finally have a mechanism by which that shite can be forced out of the game, and this is where the purists are hypocritical because THAT is the shite that wasn’t in the game until the last few decades.
