Not really. Hansborough was unnecessarily rough while making a basketball play on the ball. Haslem just went after Hansboroughs head with no effort to even make it look like a legit play.

There was a clear difference between the two. However, like I said, I wouldn't have been upset had Haslem not been suspended.

I struggle to see how you can argue against this. Hansbrough got ball, Haslem didn't come close to attempting to get ball.

same here...don't care either way. But I'm glad he did get suspended and just wish the refs would have made the call in-game.

I have no problem with hard fouls and retaliation w/ hard fouls. It happens in every sport, just about every game.

Hansborough's play may have started out as a "play on the ball" but it quickly ceased being that. In my opinion that's a weird distinction to make. Half way through the play he decided he wanted to make serious contact with Wade. The fact that he started out making a play shouldn't negate that half way through the play he stopped just making a play on the ball. You don't accidentally grab someone's face and pull on a follow through.

Haslem shouldn't have been suspended IMHO. His foul was a flagrant 2, but those don't come with an automatic suspension in the next game. His wasn't egregious enough to warrant that given the circumstance, and it's also not his fault that the refs got the call wrong. Upgrade it and fine him

I can agree with this.

So Artest gets 7 games for throwing a blind elbow to a guy standing behind him, but Pittman only gets 3 games for zeroing in on a player flying down the lane and launching himself, elbow first into that player's neck. And to make Pittman's worse, it was premeditated.

Should have been 1 for Haslem and 5 for Pittman. Haslem is getting his 1 game because he should have been kicked out of game 5.

If Haslem made a play for the ball, he was really off.

Pussification of America

Not mad about Pittman's suspension. He knew what he was going to get when he did it.

I think Haslem got the Flagrant, and that should be the end of it. It was a flagrant 2. Why have the flagrant 2 penalty, if it means an auto suspension?

Why not get rid of flagrant 2, and just eject all flagrant fouls with auto suspensions?

because they called it a flagrant 1 on the court when it was clearly a flagrant 2 and he should have been ejected from the game at that point..but he wasn't

I still think its unfair that because the refs screwed up in game now he has to miss the next game, but I still understand where the NBA s coming from in suspending him

I still blame the refs on the court for making all of this happen. If they would have kicked Haslem out of the game when it happened, the Heat would have still rolled and Pittman's penalty probably wouldn't have happened

But the fact that they called Pittman's a flagrant 1 on the court shows you how in "control" the refs on the courts were
