I do tons of orders in the $3-5 range for Pokemon and magic. As long as you sleeve the card, put it in a toploader and then use a little bit of take so it doesn't come out of the top loader, you'll be just fine shipping in a plain white envelope.

Please don't ship anything in a PWE. Would you want to get a card in a PWE? If you must ship in a PWE, at least add some cardboard to both sides of your card for added protection. I don't trust the postal service to not mess the cards up. PWE is too risky IMO.

If it's a $3-5 card like he said, the toploader is enough. You're not doing much with that card outside of tossing it into a binder, or for Pokemon and Magic actually using the card.

Most standard rookie cards I buy come in a standard envelope, but any auto/jersey/sp card I've gotten have always come in a padded manila envelope.

I guess we will have to agree to disagree. I would never ship in anything but a bubble mailer, regardless of the value of the card inside. I would hope to never receive cards in a PWE either. To each their own.

I mean, I have done probably a thousand orders over the years, and there have been zero problems with PWE and a toploader. Will do absolutely no damage to the card.

You're wasting money shipping low value cards in bubble mailers

Edit: anything I sell on eBay I ship in eBay in a bubble mailer since you can't trust any buyer on there

Blue, if you’re buying/selling cards on eBay do you focus on graded cards only. What’s your overall feeling on sending cards to get graded?

BGS is a flat out dirty company
PSA is a dirty company that has regraded thousands of trimmed cards that had been previously graded

Grading is a scam

I usually only focus on graded cards for Pokemon, or cards that can be graded.

It's the only verifiable way to sell a card tbh, and it guarantees its authenticity and it's the only verifiable way to show its condition

I like getting my cards slabbed for the added protection that it provides, but I do agree that grading can be shady. Those companies tend to reward higher grades to those who are more frequent customers. I guess money talks.

PSA insider? Might have to see...

And my favorite of all so far.. this behemoth ... it’s big time so buckle in and pour somethin strong
Whattup BGS.. Whattup Mr Clemons

There are literally scores of threads in every sports’ sub topics on that board and plenty of other boards, podcast, sites including ESPN articles etc.

This is a great starting point though for those of you who are interested in grading.

I WILL say I own graded cards and slabbed cards look fantastic.
However I have not bought any in a while

I never submitted cards for grade before but was curious because I have 2 Super Bowl XX full tickets that are in great shape (Bottom stub is completely intact on both). eBay has the graded listed significantly priced higher then non graded. Just wondering if I should submit the tickets and a few cards and see what happens.

So Barracuda, since the Cowboys are kinda my second team, you mind sending that Lamb auto my way? I know you're good for it

What cards you looking to get graded? I can see if my PSA middle man does tickets, but he charges $15/card and that includes a pre-screening. So if he pre-screens a lower grade on a card you sent in, you can choose not to submit it to PSA and keep it raw.

Not really even sure on which cards I would submit. I see Mariano Rivera (Tampa bay Yankees) RC was selling for a nice price on eBay. Old Jordan’s, second year Lebron and more recent Mahomes Rookie. It seems like the refractor and special inserts are the ones to grade not the average run of the mill rookie.

Man I just sat here and read every page. I have definitely got back into it myself. Right now it’s hard to even walk around in the room without knocking over a stack of cards. I’m trying to go through about 200,000 or more cards. Pulling out decent rookies and so forth. You can pass a day away quick if you start sorting when you wake up and before you know it the suns going down lol. I feel like the caveman meme “what year is it “ after a few days.

Besides the tons of cards I’m going through now, I also came across a couple boxes of 90 upper deck baseball while I was going through stuff. 2 boxes of 91 score football. 1 or 2 boxes of 91-92 upper deck basketball, a box of 92-93 Topps basketball, a bunch of 90 skybox inaugural edition basketball, packs of 92 leaf baseball, packs of 13 Baseball Triple play, packs of 86-90 Topps baseball, 91 fleer basketball packs, 90 Bowman baseball packs, 90 fleer football packs, 08 upper deck baseball packs, 90 hoops basketball packs, 91 Bowman football, and I forgot the other basketball packs I found. There around the same era. Crazy what you can find.

I’ve been selling pretty good in different groups on Facebook and a couple on feebay. I may start doing some hot packs. I supply a few people on Facebook with there staxx games. I don’t have a lot of high end stuff though. Baseball I pc Acuna, Riley, Freeman, Frank Thomas, and any Cubs. Football is any Ole Miss player, any Mannings, and Favre. Basketball is Lebron mainly just for a return later down the road for him. I’ve got one 1/1 left that I believe I’m gonna let go. It’s a sweet rpa printing plate with a nice patch and auto on plate of Hakeem Butler. I got it because I was gonna start collecting him but decided to go with others. But I’ve been doing pretty decent selling lots on Facebook. I just got into my first break the other day and now it’s like some dope head needing a fix ha. I’ve been in 4 now in a couple days but haven’t hit anything worth mentioning so I’m trying to ween myself off and focus back on selling and trading. It’s definitely something enjoyable.

ETA. Also I wouldn’t mind talking with you more about getting some stuff graded. Like if you could send in a few if I decide to do it. Not a bunch. Just some to send like when someone else may be sending an order.

You should absolutely grade your better centered/quality cards. There was a long line last I looked into it. There are people that do group submissions on blowout and facebook that have a solid reputation if you want to save a little money.

Regarding the two companies, I have NO F***ING IDEA why a PSA 10 > BGS 9.5 . I have gotten some PSA 10s that I just know for a fact wouldn't grade out 9s. Right now, go PSA submitting. It's the better value. Longer wait times, but a PSA 10 is easier to get than a BGS 9.5 and worth more. It's dumb. The Beckett slabs are so much better looking too it's absurd.

This is such a terribly spread fallacy. Beckett has tons of off graded cards as well, but they don't do nearly the volume as PSA so you don't hear about it as often.

Also, the general rule of thumb is a QUAD 9.5 equals PSA 10

a good video that sums up the PSA conspiracy theories

Cuda, not sure how far you’re going back on looking for LSU autos, but I came across a Neon Green Pulsar Prizm auto of Russell Gage last night if you need it.

Hey guys anyone know when the next series of cards from other companies will be coming out? I want a Joe Burrow autograph with a swatch of a LSU jersey included. I know they usually start coming out after the NFL draft.

Id probably expect August at the earliest. Everything has been pushed back because of Corona. Tons of supply chain problems.

You would probably want to look out for National Treasures College Football.
