McGrady lost in rd 1 every year so never played many tough teams/series. Harden been outta round 1 abojt 10 years in a row. Hardens rd 1 BPM easily clears Tracy.

His playoff BPM is somewhere around 10th all time. He has been better than some of the greatest players in the league history, and in many cases a lot better.

Mcgrady playoff bpm 7.14
Harden playoff bpm 6.74

Paul has lost more playoff series than he has won and 0-2 v harden.

What’s harden’s playoff series record and head to head compared to Duncan, Wade, kobe, etc?

When they shared the court CP was inferior in every series. He is eliminated from the conversation.

Paul has higher PER, ws/48, bpm, and vorp in the playoffs. It really isn’t even a debate.

if Paul would have beaten him even once with more help tou could maybe go with Paul. But he blew a 3-1 lead one time and the next time he lost when Russ was hurt and HOU second best player was Jeff green.

CP -25 in the 4th quarter of a home close out game. From up 15 to a 10 point loss. Prob the worse playoff choke job ever.

Paul is significantly better than harden in every advanced metric that you value above all else. There is no debate.

Was that the series where Paul dragged an okc team that had no business being in the playoffs to 7 games against your guaranteed champions pick with Lu dort as his second best player?

Harden would rather be at strip clubs than playing ball.

Shai
Adams
Shroder
Gallinari

“No business in playoffs” he had more help. That team was picked to finish at the bottom of the conf because of how bad CP looked in HOU on his way outta town.

Cp had those guys ,harden had Jeff green, Tucker, and Covington. cp had more help, still lost. And got outplayed by a mile.

Harden 23.8
Paul 16.7

Via bball ref game score metric. Not close.

CP lost 3 straight games with 2 all nba teammates.

Harden lost when his best teammate was Eric Gordon.
No all stars or all nba help.

Not comparable.

So chris Paul was good enough to get the team was picked to finish last in conference because the supporting cast was thought to not be able to make up for him being bad, all the way up to the 5th seed?

As always, thanks for proving my point WBB.

Weird how you forgot to mention Gordon, house, and Westbrook who all averaged double figures for the series.

WBB, how did chris Paul have “more help” when he only had 2 other players with game scores over 10 in that series, while harden had 3?

Harden makes his teammates worse. Guys routinely go from all stars pre-harden, to non all-stars with harden, back to all-stars again post harden.

Philly doesn’t get enough grief for butchering the Embiid era.

Tatum Ingram and Embiid could be their core right now.

russ averaged 10 points a game, but had a minus BPM for every game of the series, and shot 41/17/50. He really helped the team. 43% TS. If he wouldn’t have played at all the team would have been better for it.

Funny that’s the exact same thing James Hardens teammates say every postseason!

Westbrook has been outta the first round 1 time in the last 5 years. It was when he was on Houston, and hurt.

Harden has been on a deep playoff run 6-7 years in a row, probably double the current steak of any other star player.

The second round is a deep run?

Yes.

To compare to other top players

KD once in 3 years
Steph 1 in 3 years
Bron 1 in 4 years
Kawhi lol
Luka 1 in 4 years
Giannis - second best current streak
Jokic - was on a 3 year run but lost out in rd 1 this year

That’s not answering the question but of course you’re really counting KDs Achilles recovery year against him lol. Kawhi as well. And 5/6 of those guys have a title or a bubble title in that span. Which counts for more than anything Small Game James has done.

Harden tanked his way out of town. There is no recovery from that. Even Vince Carter is embarrassed for him. You should be too.
