I've been and it was well done.
It's out of the way and not sure the appeal of going to Canton/Akron area for anything else.
They had some really neat videos you can watch with the sound enhanced.

Only reason I went is because I was in the area for work already.

Some of the teams have really impressive hall of fames these days - I went to the patriots hall of fame right outside of stadium and that was impressive. Granted the Pats have a lot to display but it was neat to see and they had an awesome video of the history of the Pats

I grew up about half an hour from there. Yes, definitely worth it. Don't stay in Canton. You're an hour from Cleveland and a couple hours from Columbus and Pittsburgh. Stay in one of those cities and drive to Canton. Amish Country is also about half an hour from Canton, if cities aren't your thing.

I think Sandusky would be an ideal place to stay in the summer to hit up Cedar Point then drive down for a day trip.

Stay on Kelley's Island or Put-In-Bay instead of Sandusky. None of them are particularly close to Canton, anyways, and the islands are awesome in the summer.

Isn’t the world’s longest bar there?

I grew up about a half hour from the HOF as well. If you go on the weekend know the hours of operation because by 4 pm it’s locked up.

I went back in 2014 but was staying in Cleveland. It was a great experience. Tons of cool shite you wouldn’t expect. Like others have said I’d definitely go a weekend the Browns, Guardians or Cavs are playing and stay in Cleveland because there’s really nothing else to do in Akron/Canton

Yeah, that area is a pretty good option in the summer.

In the fall, Amish Country. We usually stay closer to Millersburg than Sugarcreek when we're up that way.

I grew up about 30 minutes from it. I’ve been many times, most recently in 2022. I would definitely say it’s worth it.

Yes. It was ok, HOFs seem to always be a bit of a downer to me though.

I think you and I had the discussion about where we grew up and I believe we were fairly close to each other.

Proud Beloit West Branch Warrior here.

Yep. We probably know a lot of the same people. Maybe all of the same people. Beloit isn't that big.

I went a long time ago when the Saints played in the HOF Preseason game.

We stayed in Pittsburgh and drove over.

It's definitely a cool place. Wish I had spent longer inside hut we got there late and the game was starting soon so I didn't spend as much time as I could have. They had a cool Katrina display I took a pic with at the time so this must have been around 2007 or 2008

A bit underwhelming imo.

The highlight of my visit was seeing the kit ("jersey", here in the States) worn by John Elway (of the "Denver Broncos" football club) during his legendary performance in Cleveland (against the "Cleveland "Browns" football club) during the 1986 American Football Conference championship game.

This game and its climactic ending sparked the moment in which I fell head over heels in love with American football. I remember watching the legendary "Drive" in the Great Room of our new home, on a new large-screened television, with a large fire crackling fire in the great fireplace (warming us three from directly behind the sofa on which we all sat).

That game was one of my first memories of living in America. I had an Elway poster in my room that I begged mother to purchase for me soon after (it was procured at a small, brightly lit sports apparel shoppe in the "Jax" (Jackson) Brewery. This poster, along with a pair of fuzzy, bright, orange-coloured Denver Broncos sweatbands and a(n) American-style "baseball" cap.

A few years later, I was excited to see the legendary football John Elway in person for the first time in my life. I was adorned in these very same wristbands and "baseball" cap in the cavernous Louisiana Superdome. That autumn day saw the local New Orleans Saints beat Elway's Broncos (by an infathomable score of 42 points to 0!). It remains the only time in my life that I actively rooted against the Saints. A vagrant (who had likely been seated in the Terrace Level, a desolate upper portion of the grand arena where the lighting is poor, the hallways narrow and gloomy. A place that without fail smells of stale "popping corn" and cheep beer. A place where the restrooms are large piss pots (troughs really, better suited for animals than humans) lined sixteen across with a line of twelve men per spot) mocked me on the ramps that descended us to the grand Poydras Boulevard and challenged me (in his best approximation of English) to name any team capable of defeating "dem Saints". I immediately cited the 49ers, who had prevailed over "Dem Saints" only two weeks prior.
