John Stockton never did. Gonzaga didn't make the NCAA until 1995, a decade after he was there.

I just think basketball is so individualized that it's hard for a great player to miss the tourney. Especially with so many teams now.
Although I could see with a one and done rule how a great player could end up on a bad team and miss the tourney and go pro.
