Many feel including me that he got a title shot early because he's British.
Also, the other contenders pretty much have all already lost to GSP.

If they are ever going to do GSP vs Anderson Silva they need to do it soon.

Its still bad when a guy getting a title shot hasn't fought ANY of Koscheck, Alves, Fitch, Daley, Rumble Johnson, Kampmann, Serra, or Hughes leading up to his title fight.

And his inexperience will be exploited by GSP unfortunately.

GSP is going to wrestle the frick out of that guy...... I don't know if him getting a title shot this quickly is a good thing or not. He probably will get embarrassed unless he lands the unlikely home run shot.

why? frank will never be as strong as carwin in the weight room.
with that said i think frank has a more well rounded game.
I was just talking about him being a dick. Just like I loved when BJ licked the blood off his gloves after pummeling Joe Daddy's face.
Mir has gotten alot stronger though a year or two ago Mir and strength wouldn't really be an issue except a lack of.

Great point. Who all has Hardy fought? Swick? Davis? Markham? and...
I really don't follow strike force and the others that he fought in but none of the names stand out to me.

Pretty much only chance he has. It's happened before but GSP is pretty damn careful. Hardy would half to be the first to really figure out how to stop GSP's takedowns and I don't see that happening.

but but but he has trained with Matt Serra for 3 weeks.

Which is plenty of time for Serra to show him how to tap from knees to the body.

Is the Ben Saunders vs. Fitch thing confirmed?
Posted on 3/26/10 at 1:16 pm to The Real Keyser Soze
Yea. Kurt Pellegrino vs. some dude was moved to the main card and Jake Ellenberger is not fighting now.

At the time Davis was probably top 10 and Swick was probably top 3-5 and arguably next in line for the title shot.
Hardy definitely gets a bump because he is british but he is not totally undeserving.
Who would you rather see get a title shot now? A Fitch or Koscheck rematch? Paulo Thiago? Paul Daley?

Cool, thanks. Should still be a pretty good card with the 2 main events and better than average prelims.

So many of you guys have always hated on Frenchy, I just don't get it. And probably lost coin chasing him, instead of milking him all the way. GSP is right there as the best lb for lb, only Anderson Silva's reasserting himself again the last few fights rivals him. And BJP owning his division.
GSP has world-class wrestling, learned in an epic small window of time, comes from school of hard-knocks, is all class, respects the game and fighters, despite what BJ says of oiling down(whom I respect, but isn't above manipulating the truth if his titty is twisted or humiliated)
You'd think SoLa's would embrace a fellow Acadian.

GSP isn't Acadian, he is Québécois.

I get it, it's all about match making. His past four fights he had two split decisions, KO and a UD. Split with Marcus Davis and one split over Akihiro Gono. Not exactly world beating
When you look at the whole thing, it's really GSP's fault for cleaning out the Welterweight division.
I would like to see him face Nick Diaz but that's going to happen until he can put the hippie lettuce down.
