We can argue whether they deserved to be there or not.(would prefer not to beat this dead horse though) It doesn't matter now. They were clearly the better team that night, and with that they earned the crystal football.
You can't be national champions if you aren't even the champion of your own conference.

You can't be Super Bowl champions if your team wears blue.
See, I can say retarded things too.

We got totally robbed in 1966. Look it up. We were the nation's only undefeated, untied team. We won the Sugar Bowl. We even started the Season #1.
But we would've been the only team in the modern era to win 3 in a row, and the polls didn't want to give it to us.
Completely and totally robbed. No question about it.
I don't think anyone here would disagree with you.
It's still no excuse for 1941 though (not saying that you said that or anything).

Where does it say this?
Let me ask this too, were you one of the many who were pushing for a rematch in 06?

Which 11 are "consensus"?

I may have to change my opinion soon. I can only agree with and defend Bama for so long.

All of these people disagree with you. Major polls are in bold.

While I have said this ever since Nebraska in 01, and again in 03, 06, and 07. Bama still got in, whether you or anyone else agrees with it. And they won it on the field. LSU was the SEC champion, and Bama unfortunately was the National Champ

True. Those Championships in 25, 26, and 31 are retroactive, and I'm sure someone will bring this up.
But if you look at the season, and the bowl results, you can see why Bama was eventually voted NC.

Don't forget the FWAA and NFF too. I know how you love the FWAA.

I don't think you know what consensus means. I just went through the 14 Alabama claims and only 7 times did Alabama even have the most publications voting them #1.
61, 64, 65, 73, and 78 are all split.

You're the one who doesn't know what consensus means.
This is from the NCAA's own record book:
ETA: USMCGators beat me to it

I prefer this one, since we all know that cfb didn't started until 1990.

From Mr. Webster "a : general agreement : unanimity".
If you aren't even champion by a majority how can you possibly claim unanimity? I guess by the same logic that can see you finish 4th in your conference and then retroactively award yourself a national title 40 years later in hopes that everyone forgot.

I will say this, I have a lot more respect for the FWAA then I do for the NFF.
